Possibly the front element of the lens has become contaminated with some foreign substance and requires cleaning. Otherwise, sounds like a trip to repair facility. If it is still under warranty, contact Nikon direct.
Try TOTALLY unplugging the printer. Power AND input cables. Reboot the computer and reconnect the printer. Some printers hold errors until all sources of power and communications have been cleared.
You have more than likely damaged lens tube (housing) or jarred the zoom mechanism off of its track. Both conditions will normally shut the camera off to prevent further damage and, unfortunately, either will require professional repair.
there is a encoder strip in the printer to which the cartridge head carriage reads .if this encoder strip is dusty or loose the carriage cannot read so it bangs from left to right.and due to this printer cannot get set to its position.and the orange error light blinks.that transperant long strip with blacl vertical lines on it has to be checked.

yes sir, starting to malfunction and needs replacement now. unless you cant ry cleaning it manually maybe it will help a little but sooner or later it will again give you same trouble
