One minute it powered on and the next it would not. Replaced batteries and still no power at all.

If the camera won't turn on, check the batteries, or connect the
camera to an AC adapter. If that doesn't work, remove all batteries,
disconnect the AC adapter, wait a minute, reinsert batteries and
reconnect the adapter.
If the flash doesn't work, the camera won't take pictures, or the screen keeps turning off, check that the batteries are strong.

I think it will stay closed with painters tape or gaffer tape. this type of tape is blue or black. it is strong but not super sticky. I also have the same camera. my battery cover broke after the strap got stuck on a door handle to my office and the door kinda crunched it.

If you can find the XD type H card, you can use up to 2gb. There are no firmware upgrades for your camera.

Usually answered in minutes!
I did all that already. It will not power on with the AC adapter or the internet cord. My batteries are rechargables and they were brand new when I put them in. I just am not getting any power period.
