Thermostat display has an image of a flame

i would remove cover on roof & try to get a closer look at issue.

Likely the transformer, might as well replace that to. Verify everything is tight, all electric connections and components.

If this is a gas furnace it sounds like you have a polarity issue (line and neutral swapped) or you do not have a good ground to the unit. The newer units 1998 on up are polarity sensitive and require a good ground for its controls and safeties for continuous operation. Checking these things should resolve your problem. After it tries to fire twice without the flame sensor sending back a flame sensed flame signal it will lock itself out until the call for Heat is not present which will reset the control board.

need to go to furnace and watch it...if your hearing a hum the enducer draft motor may have failed...it should start first if there is no fault codes...reset unit by unplugging furnace or in some cases turning power switch off...turn thermostat on heat and watch unit ..the small enducer draft motor should start first the a ignitor glows and the should light...goodman units have a control board with a light on control board when it fails should flash a code and on the door or inside on lable should give you what that code is...hope this helps good luck

Check the air lines going to air pressure switch for cracks or splits. I know that will affect the gas valve but not sure if that is your problem.

sounds like it is miswired. actually try fan on with the heat on and see if the fan works.

snowflake is the symbol for cool on some thermostats and a flame pic is for heat. As far as the unit not cooling you need to do a few things to see where the problem could be. First you need to turn on the unit and go to the outside section and see if the compressor is turning on. You will be able to hear the compressor by the humming it emits. If you do not hear the humming there could be a chance the compressor's capacitor is out. In that case you will need to have it replaced
If you hear the compressor then it's possible and more than likely you are low on freon. Both items the freon and the capacitor wwould need to be taken care of by a tech due to licensing for the freon and the capicitor because of the wiring. Good Luck Hope that helps

That flame means that you heat is on and working .

First Clean the ignitor assembly and make sure the flame is reaching the flame sensor strongly.

You may need to replace the flame sensor.

sounds like your contactor is stuck shut.
