LG WM-2277HW Front Load Washer Logo
Anonymous Posted on Oct 15, 2012

My LG Washing Machine WM2277 has an object stuck just behind the drain pump filter, causing water to leak underneath the machine. How can I remove the drain pump filter.

I can remove the lower cover cap and plastic cover behind it. The drain pump filters seems to have some plastic flanges behind the metal cover to keep it from being removed easily. Do I need to disassemble the front panel somehow?

Removing the drain pipe filter is easy. The object is wedged behind the tube in which the drain pipe filter is screwed into.

My chain was inside the washing machine. can you tell me how to remove my chain. I have topload washing machine

your machines water pump is going to look like this underneath the machine http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Drain-Pump/4681EA2001D/1266821 if it didn't pump it down the drain, it will be in the hose leading to this pump, or actually in it, there might be a filter that could have caught it, I'm not sure if that specific machine has one, check the drain hose itself too, Be ready for water to leak all over Good Luck

Won't spin--just makes a grinding noise

Hi.

The grinding noise usually means that there are objects stuck in the drain pump filter.

with front loader the drain pump filter is often located behind an access door or a trim on the front side at the bottom. Open the door or remove the trim, then unscrew the cap. Be prepared to collect the water. Disconnect power before starting.

Top loaders have pump access from underneath or at the back.

Lg wahser wm1832cw flashes oe on readout. nothing in drain

Hi,

If you are getting this code it is because your washing machine has tried for at least ten minutes to drain the water out of the machine. The most likely cause of this problem is that you have a plugged pump filter or you have something stuck in the pump filter.Make sure that you unplug your washing machine. To clean out the pump filter you must empty the washing machine water. The best way to do this is to manually drain the water into a low bucket or basin. Then lay a towel down to catch to remaining small amount of water. Remove the pump filter, clean out any debris, and wash out the filter. Then plug your washer back in and restart the washing machine.Check that your machine is properly leveled. A washer that is too far out of level may not drain properly. Make sure that you are level front to back as well as side to side. This solution will solve your problem

Thank You !!

Code OE

Stephen 1787 --
You are getting this code because your washing machine has tried for more that 10 minutes to drain the water out of the machine. Most likely the cause of this problem is that you have a plugged pump filter or you have something stuck in the pump filter.
First make sure that you unplug your washing machine. To clean out the pump filter you must drain the washing machine water. Manually bail-out the water using a small bucket or basin. Then use a towel to sop up any remaining water. Remove the pump filter, clean out any debris, and rinse out the filter. Plug your washer back in and restart the washing machine. Ensure that your machine is properly leveled. Washers that are too far out of level may not drain properly. If you are still having problems, write back. -- SWT

Water pump failure?

The water pump drain motor has something stuck in it or it has gone bad like most LG parts.
Remove the drain pump and look for any foreign object to be removed.
Check the drain pump for a failed pump motor.
LG is pretty.

LG WM2277 "OE" ERROR. PLEASE HELP

The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.

LG themselves have some information on this error code..

Lg intellowasher DD 7.5kg WM14225FD error code OE

I think your "OE" is really a "DE" or drain error. Open the access door on the lower left of the front panel on the machine, drain the remaining water with the small drain hose there, and unscrew and remove the larger thing, which is a filter. Clean filter. If filter was not blocked, check for loose impeller on drain pump motor, which requires replacement of drain pump motor. (just sticking it back on will result in it coming off again)
If this helps, a "fixya" rating would be appreciated. Thanks.
