I was trying to turn my movie on, on my Toshiba Television but when i insert the disc and press play, nothing happens. The channel i was watching was still playing but i could tell that the movie was on because the little timer on the right hand side was on and going

dOn wOrRy all u hAv to do is to turn on uR pS2 witthout puttin a DVD oR aNy diSc........ on mEnu screen gOto [options] by pRessing 'triangle' button......... a new screen will appear select by pressing 'X' [DISC SPEED]....n sEt it to fAst .....then insert the DVD movie........tURn off PS2.... press n hold the reset button till the blue light is turned on ......release the button and press it again.............. it wOuld take a little tYm foR uR DVD movie to be loAded........ be patient till the movie plays it self.............. If uR DVd still wont play then you should clean your PS2's lens Watch this video.....!!!
On some of the movies I bought from the store I am trying to play them on my Panasonic DVD and I get the message "This type of disc cannot be played" WHY??Doesn't say that with all movies.
turn on the dvd player with the remote . press open on the remote insert the disc dvd out of the box close tray press play to watch dvd when finished press open take out disc and close disc tray and turn off dvd player .

My Toshiba DVD player does the same. It stops playing the disc, and the icon for incorrect disc displays. Often I cannot even start a movie. I keep getting BAD on the readout display also. I try hitting the player, or the stand in which the player is sitting, and sometimes it goes away and the movie plays. I will never buy Toshiba again.
