SOURCE: Don't know if this is right model

Okay...took me a while to get a good cross reference on this one. Drop the last four characters of your model number and place a "110." in front of the remaining numbers. That way the number reads 110.86921100. The "110" identifies the manufacturer. Your dryer is made by Whirlpool. If you go to searspartsdirect.com and type in the model number I provided, there are a series of drawings on the next page showing an exploded view of the layout of your dyer. Does this look familiar to you? Under the "Cabinet" heading you will find the dryer belt listed as item number 56 (part number 341241). For a diagram of how the belt goes on, go to repairclinic.com and you will find a dryer belt diagram link listed under the "Repair Help" section. Locate the Whirlpool diagrams and you will use drawing "K". I apologize if this sounds like absolute madness. If you get confused, please post back and let me know. I hope this answers your questions.

SOURCE: Replacing the belt on my kenmore electric dryer model # 110.8756.

Depending on the type of door the dryer has, is how you approach the access of these dryers. Mostly though you yank out the filter first.Remove the 2 screws in the filter housing on top. Then use a putty knife to pop the top. Remove the screws holding the front panel on. VERY IMPORTANT! Raise the front up an inch before pulling forward or the panel clips will break! Some models have a panel on bottom. If they do then this panel must come off first. Then you remove the door springs and back off the screws holding down the bottom of the door panel. Then pop the top and remove the screws on top to get the panel out of your way. Get the drum out and clean out the dryer. Oil the wheels and idler. Replace the belt using this diagram . NOTE yours is lower right:

You have to remove the front panel. The top folds back and there are 2 screws on the inside corners to release the front. Eric

Dyer will not turn on. Can hole the starter button in and dryer will run. remove and the dryer will stop running. When holding the start button the dryer does not heat. Any Idea's as to what may be...

broken belt or broken broken belt switch most likely. Open the door. Hold in the door switch and push the start button. Does the drum turn? If it does turn then the broken belt micro switch is where I would look first. If the drum don't turn of course I would replace the broken belt.
The only Kenmore dryer that has a broken belt switch is the 4 wheel drive model. Here is a video which shows how to get into this dryer and replace the belt:

How do i replace the belt on my model 70 series kenmore dryer

You need to remove the dryer casing so the drum is viewable. You need to release the tension on the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off the pulley, then you can slide the belt off the drum. Replacement is the same as removal. The tensioner pulley can many times be accessed through a compartment in the rear of the dryer.

The edge belt came off the drum The belt is not broken, but the the drum now rotates with excess friction. How to replace?

If you are referring to the felt "belt" that wraps around the end of the dryer drum, this is referred to as a "drum seal". The dryer will not tumble at the required speed and make a lot of noise without it. If you can please post back with a complete model number (located around the door opening on Kenmore), I can explain how to replace and maybe provide you with a part number.

Kitchenaid dryer

Yank the filter out the top.
remove the 2 phillips screws in that filter housing on the top of the machine so you can pop the spring clips and get the top up. Remove the front and get the drum out. Oil the wheels and idler and rerout the belt using this PIC.
