Hi,
Since it is Desktop PC and if you have active warranty then Dell Tech Support can check and maybe send a Technician out to fix it. That would be better to avoid any other onto ward issues.
If you are talking about registry errors, go to download.com, and type registry cleaners, there are a lot of free software out there with list of choices.
RETURN the software! That's what I'm doing tomorrow. I'm tired of having nothing but problems with this software. I haven't had it for two months, and it's been problem after problem. My computer has gotten infected twice thus far and I had to get rid of those virusus myself. Why? Because the iolo customer service techs wanted to charge me an additional $199 to take care of the virusus. Yeah right, and I was born yesterday too. I used Norton the previous year and my only complain, aside from being more expensive than iolo software, was that it made my computer run slower. Nevertheless, i'm returning this iolo software and going back to using Norton. It would be nice if there was software that worked, and that their customer service didn't think that you were an idiot and wanted to rip you off, and that the software didn't slow your computer.
First reinstall SP3. If that doesnt work remove the wifi from the device list and reboot. If that doesnt work Idownlaod the latest device driver from dell. If that doesnt work then I would say a reload of XP may be the fastest way to fix this because youll be chasing the issue for hours. Reloading XP would be quicker if nothing else works.
disable system restore and delete the restore points and then update your anti virus and anti spyware defintions and run a virus and spyware scan in safemode.
How to disable system restore points and delete them How to get into safe mode
Also what anti virus and anti spyware products are you using - if anything symantec then get rid of that and use avg free or avast ( register it for free and then its free for home use )
Also for anti spyware use spybot search and destroy as well as a squared
If you need specific links to those post back. If you need further info / help post back
Also if this resolves your issue please rate it as a fix.
That is usually called a fatal error. It's not really fatal but you need to fix it. Download ccleaner and regscrub xp both for free and run them to clean your system up. It should run much quicker after that.
