My Olevia 42" television is several years old. In March of 2012, the infamous "TV will not power on" problem started.

The blue LED light on the front of the TV would go off for a split second, then light up again. The television would not start.

If you are handy with small tools and a soldering iron, you can change the capacitors on the power supply. My Olevia is a model 542-B11.

I made the repairs in March 2012 and it is now August 2012 and the television is still working great. It is turned on and off several times every day.

might be a dead pixal.try and take it off hdmi onto normal and see then .tv's have dead pixels from the word go

on my tv (42 inch) there are sixteen screws on the middle set up in four rows of four each. these are about two or three inches long.
take these out and the base comes off.
hope this helps.

I just repaired a 26" in which the stand came off after I took the primary panel off in the middle of the back then the screws were visible that Olevia is talking about. You might have a different style but it does come off.
