Re: I delete lys.sys folder from my lyra, where can I get...
Just Google the internet with "RD2840 firmware download", download the firmware upgrade .exe file, and follw the instructions in upgrading the firmware of it.
Part of the proces is to restablish all the necessary files.

Try this device using windows 7....if theres any problems with your divice windows 7 fixes them...you need no drivers at all..windows 7 really improved this device
If you have any problems with ur RCA RD 1090 Try plugging it into a computer running windows 7....Two of my friends have the same device with the same problems...who took my advice after taking there device out of the closet they both plugged it in and they got the same pop up saying you have a problem with ur device would you like windows 7 to fix ur problems and now there both using there devices again and the sweet thing about it they didnt have to download any drivers
If you have a computer with windows 7 all ur problems will be solved....just plug it in and windows 7 will fix the problems....but one thing it will only run well on 7 so think about changing
What i do is i never put songs in my internal memory...this way you never have to worry about formating the internal memory....so i have several exteral card i use say one for country or rock and its so easy to format a exteral card just place it in ur card reader if ur using a laptop them go to my computer right click on ur card that youll find then youll notice on the list theres format so its so easy...im sure its asking you to format ur drive because you must have a few corrupted files....best of all when adding music just pull ur external card out place it in a reader fill ur card with music then insert it back in ur device...this way ur getting away with using any firmware....by the way take any disc that came with ur Lyra and chuck it in the garbage that 90 percent of all ur problems
goto the rca website and find the latest firmware for your player and download it and reload the firmware that should get everything back to factory defaults
Dear FixYa,
Ohms was helping me, I am guessing that he tried to download some info for the fix.
However, because we have pony express dial-up the material was never fully sent.

PS Is there a physical address that could put humpdy dumpdy back together again in the SLC or Ogden area.
Go to RCA support http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/select.aspx?u=downloads and find your player and download the firmware and drivers (if needed) upgrade and install to your player its very easy and instructions are at the same site.
