SOURCE: washer will not drain

You have the most common calypso problem. somethin in the pump.. Pop the top of the washer by inserting a putty knife near each end of front top. it will fold back like the hood of your car. then you can take the front off. the pump is on the right side.

SOURCE: Door won't open on Samsung washer

This has happened to me twice. Both times I found the drain pump seized up with
1st time) The right rim from a pair of reading glasses
2nd time) A plastic toothpick
Both times the object was in the discharge port of the pump. You can see this by lifting the check valve with the pump removed. Removing the pump is simple. Unplug the washer. You have to remove the drain line from where its attached to the rear of the machine (one screw) to remove the rear access panel which slides into upper and lower slots. You will see the pump with an inlet and discharge line attached. The lines have simple squeeze clamps. When you remove the lines, you will drain the wash basin so have towels and a squeegie handy. Remove both lines and wait until the basin drains. When it stops draining remove the pumps electrical connector by squeezing the release catch on it while pulling it. The connector can only go on one way. Remove the 3 hold-down bolts on the pump baseplate. Remove the pump and lift open the discharge check valve and you'll find something there I guarantee it. Remove with needle nose pliers and re-assemble in reverse order.
This is actually a good design because the computer protects the pump by sensing a higher than normal current draw when foreign debris gets jammed in it. It will trigger the ND (No Drain) code and sometimes lock the door. Always check this first before you call the expensive repair man. If its not a jammed pump it will most likely be the control panel/processor. Good luck and always clean out pockets before loading the washer to prevent this,

Washer not draining

First is machine spinning? machine only drains in spin mode.
If machine not spinning check lid is closed and check lid switch and plastic plunger that operates the switch located on the lid.
If machine is spinning then most likely a blockage on the drain hoses or pump. if there is water in the machine, lower the rear drain hose to low level, if water starts to flow out the hoses are not blocked, more likely a pump failure. To replace pump first drain all water from the machine with drain hose at low level.
Tilt machine back and remove the belt from below.
Remove the front panel.
To gain access and remove front panel insert a knife or thin blade approx. 4" in the from each side in between the front seam on the front panel, this will release the lid clips, lift and hinge back the lid panel, remove the two screws securing the front panel and remove.
Pump on right hand side at the back, disconnect main hose from pump by squeezing hose clip with pliers (may be a bit of water remaining). Unbolt pump and pull forward with the drain hose attached until it can be disconnected and pump fully removed.
Check pump for blockage and damage to impellor, replace/refit in reverse order.

Lo error code in cabrio

There is no "Lo" code I can see in the service manual, but there is an "oL" code which flashes when the machine/motor control detects a load size that exceeds the washer's capacity. Open the door lid to clear the display, and remove excess laundry, then close the lid and restart the cycle.

There is an "Ld" which related to a Long Drain when the water level doesn't change after the drain pump is on. Need to check to see if the drain hose or the drain pump is clogged.

Whirlpool model # LLR6144BQ1 water fills but will not go to wash cycle.

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
This is usually caused by a failed lid switch that is item 9 this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=256996

First off put the washer in the spin cycle. With the lid closed see if the washer will spin. No spin also = bad lid switch. If the washer spins but will not agitate then the problem is most likely the water level pressure switch or associated air tubing. (any air leaks and it will not stop filling)
Water level switch is item 12 here:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=256996&diagram_id=28209075#d28209075
We test these with NO WATER in the machine and after connecting an external hose with the lid closed with power on by orally passing air into the small air hose we connected. It will click and the washer must agitate. If it clicks and does not agitate... again it points to the lid switch. Disconnecting this water level switch hose with ater in the maching and then re-connecting the hose WILL result in the machine overflowing. Tub MUST be empty.

You check the lid switch as you just open or close the lid. You should hear an audible CLICK as the lid is barely off of its closed position and again as the lid is almost closed. NO CLICK = bad door switch.

These are the 2 most common reasons that will correct the symptom your experiencing more than 90 percent of the time. There is a remote possibility that there is a problem with the motor / motor clutch. Motor clutch problems are noted by odd noises when motor is running and it will not spin or agitate. If the motor will spin the machine but will not agitate the machine it can be a motor winding.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Why the fan is not working , the fan not move

1.Check to see if the washer is overloaded. Modern washing machines have automatic shut-off devices for out-of-balance loads. Try removing some of the clothes out of the washer and restart it. Check to make sure the lid closes properly and that the lid switch clicks when the lid is closed. If the lid switch does not click, then the switch may need to be replaced or the lid may be bent. If the washing machine still does not spin, go to Step 2. Make sure the water is draining properly. If the water does not drain out, then it could cause the washing machine not to spin. Check all the drain hoses for any clogs or kinks. This is easily done by disconnecting the drain hoses and doing a visual check for clogs or kinks
3.Check to see if any belts have came off or are loose. Unplug the washer and pull it away from the wall. Use the screwdrivers to remove the back panel. Visually check for any broken or loose belts. Replace any loose or broken belts.
4. While the back panel is off, visually check for any loose or missing bolts on the motor or drum. If any are missing or loose, tighten them and replace the ones that are missing.
5. If everything has checked out to this point, then the water level switch could be bad or the water level hose could be clogged. Remove the front panel of the washer and locate the clear tube going from the tub to the water level switch. If lint or debris has gotten into the water level hose, then the washer may not spin fast. Clean the debris from the hose by blowing on the hose or tapping it on the side. To check the water level switch, go to the back of the washer and locate the back end of the water level hose. Use the voltmeter to check to see if the water level switch is getting any power.
6.If the washing machine still doesn't spin fast enough or doesn't spin at all, then it is time to call in a professional washing machine repairman.

    What does code F mean

F is part of a system fault code. There should be additional characters (numbers) in addition to the F.

Here's what I get from a Cabrio Owner's Manual if there are numbers after the F:

F## code (F-type error code) appears in display

System error code. Press START/PAUSE once to clear the code. Then press START/PAUSE again to restart washer. If code appears again, call for service.

I called Whirlpool at 1-800-442-1111, and according to customer support the manufacturer intentionally no longer provides descriptions for F codes (though there are still a few owners manuals that will describe something like F21 = Long Drain). Check to see if your owner's manual provides any F code help in the troubleshooting section.

Generally, what I was told is that F codes indicate customers need help from a technician. Not always completely true, and really not very helpful--especially if you want to attempt to avoid scheduling service.

Since there are numerous F## codes, please provide the specific code number if you desire further assistance.

Here are letter codes Whirlpool provided in the owners manual (copying from a PDF works poorly):

    -

    oL (overloaded)

Load too large. If an overload is detected, the washer will drain any water and

detergent in the washer. Remove several items and add HE
detergent. Close lid and press START/PAUSE.
    -

    uL (unbalanced load)

    appears in display

Load not balanced. The washer is

    running a load-balance correction

    routine.

Allow the machine to continue. If the dial is flashing and the

machine has stopped, redistribute the load, close the lid, and
    press START/PAUSE.
    -

    LF (too long to fill)

    appears in display

Washer taking too long to fill.

    Drain extends more than

    4.5" (114 mm) into standpipe.

Check plumbing for correct drain hose installation. Use drain

hose form and attach securely to drainpipe or tub. Do not tape
over drain opening. See "Installation Instructions".

    Water wont drain out

    Hi,

1)A washing machine won't spin if the water can't drain. Check hoses for any kinks or clogs that may prevent the water from draining. If a hose has kinks, try to straighten out the kinked hose. If it can't be straighten sufficiently, replace the hose. If hoses are not kinked, check for clogged hoses. This can be done by using the screwdrivers to remove the hoses and looking for clogs or running a water hose through the clogged hose to remove the clog. Use the rags and bucket to clean up the water that comes out of the hoses when they are disconnected. Once the clog is cleared, put the drain hose back into place. The washer should drain and spin now if a clogged or kinked hose was the problem
2)If the washer still won't drain or spin, check to see if the lid is not closing all the way or if the lid switch is not clicking into place. Close the lid and make sure that it closes all the way down. When the lid closes, the lid switch should click. If there is no clicking sound, then the switch may need to be replaced. Follow manufacturer's directions for replacing the switch. If the lid does not close all the way, visually check for signs that the lid is bent. If bent, try to bend it back into place.
3)Another possibility for a washing machine to not spin or drain is the pump. With the back panel still off the washer, check the pump with the voltmeter to ensure that the pump is getting power. If the washer is getting power, turn on the washer and listen to find out if the pump is running but the water is still not draining. It may be necessary to remove the pump and clean it or to replace the pump with a new one. Once the pump is replaced, turn on the washer to determine if it will now drain and spin.
If all of the above steps fail to produce a washing machine that drains, then it is time to call a professional repairman.

    Thank you !!

    Machine won't fill or won't fill high enough(LX18, LX30 display shows "E0," "E2," "E3," or "E4")

1.Low water pressure — check for clogged hose strainer; check that site water pressure meets minimum flow pressures.
    2.Make sure probes are clean.
3.No water pressure — main water supply valves may not be working.
4.Drain valve open - turn machine off to drain machine, then on. Repeat twice (this assists in clearing any drain valve obstructions). Wait for machine to reach READY mode and press WASH. Slowly open door several seconds later and note water level. Close door; 30 seconds later, open door slowly and check that water level is the same as it was. If not, repeat the
    OFF-ON procedure.

    Will not drain

Some machines will agitate with the top open but need the lid closed to drain/spin. Your machine should have a hidden lid switch attached to the lid hinge. This "arm" is probably out of position and will need to be bent slightly to engage the switch. You should hear a faint mechanical click as you open and close the lid. The cabinet will have to be removed from the machine to correct this.
