How to replace brass connector hose

The pilots on the top and bottom ovens takes a long time to get the heat turned on in the ovens; these are not working properly. Also, where can i find a replacement for the Metal plate that sits over the flame area for the top oven. (its what you lift up to light the pilot if it should go out) its almost as wide as the oven itself this metal plate.

SOURCE: where is the pilot light for imperial range oven

Hello. I will try to guide you, in the area that you described, there should be a pilot safety valve, and usually they have a red button you depress in order to get gas to the pilot. The pilot is usually beyond the safety, if you follow the pipe from the safety, into the burner area, that will lead you to the pilot. Put your match, lighter of choice there, while holding in the red button. wait approx. 30 to 60 seconds, then release. If all is well, your pilot is now lit, however you still may need some attention, like cleaning the pilot and orifice. If not, you will need possibly a thermocouple for the pilot/safety, or a safety. Either of those I would suggest you call a local service company, check your phone book under "restaurant equipment repair"

Hope that helps, and thank you.

Why does my Maytag oven take so long to preheat?

The oven igniter might be weak or broken and needs replacement and the heating valve cold also needs replacement as well.

Jetmaster pilot light will not light

Possible that you need a new thermo coupler. It is a simple job to replace. It is the brass tube that sits in the flame of the pilot light and crates a weak electrical signal that operates the gas controls and has a limited lifespan. Turn off the gas and then simply remove the brass tube that sits in the pilot flame and take it to a furnace or fireplace supplier to get a new one. Reinstall and hold the pilot start button with the flame going to get it working.

Maytag gas oven takes a long time heat and smells of gas.

Important---if you smell gas--I'd be very very careful---could be your control valve or lines to it are malfunctioning or leaking. You might have to call in an expert repair person. How old is the oven? Some preliminary checks you might make are: Do you have a pilot lite or preheaters on the unit? If a pilot lite, make sure it is lit. An unlit pilot lite could sometimes give the smell of gas if malfunctioning. If so, there is is a procedure for lighting the pilot lite--check your user or installation manual. If you have pre-heaters make sure they are lighting up. Normally you have one for the top broiler burner, and one for the bottom oven burner. Check your preheater(s) by selecting either broiler or oven and visually checking to see if they are warming up. After 15 seconds or so, they should be turning bright red. You will see some light coming from them. Check one pre-burner at a time. If they do not come on quickly, shut off the associated valve. Again, be very, very careful with any buildup of gas. It could cause an explosion. At the least it could make you sick.

Pilot is on but burner will not come on.

The bimetal probe inside the safety valve is probably worn out. You gonna need to replace the gas valve on a standing pilot style range.themobilian_2825.jpg
The bulb has mercury in it. When heated by the pilot it opens the valve below and holds it open. When you turn the oven control up top the gas travels down through that valve and onto the burner where the pilot lights it. A new replacement valve will not come pre-adjusted. You will have to sit the old one beside the new one and turn the adjustment nut till the orifices are the same height. That will get ya close. After bubble testing you can turn it on and tweak the flame. I like to have mine half way up the flame spreader. If the flame is too low it will take an hour to bake a pie shell. If it is too high all the food will be burnt on the bottom and raw on top.

if its gas then it wouldnt be a pilot it would be an ignitor remove top lower heat shield or look from bottom either way one way or another you have to be able to get to the ignitor and perform an ampere test on the ignitor should be drawing 3-3.3 amps any less then this and you would have to replace the ignitor yes at 2.9 you should also replace the ignitor because it would take longer to light the gas making your cooking take longer and the oven not heat properly as well if you have any further questions message me back and Thanks again Rick

One of the top burner pilot lights will not stay

You probably have grease that has gotten into the pilot. Turn off the gas to the pilot and detach the pilot tubing and pilot tip. It sometimes helps to take a propane torch and heat up the pilot tip and tubing, paying special attention to the first bend from the pilot tip. Get it red hot and tap out any ash from the inside. You may have to **** out the tubing with a piece of bare wire or blow it out with WD-40. With the oven pilot, check the pilot flame. If low, adjust. If OK, replace the thermocouple. If neither of these corrects the problem, replace the pilot satety. I always recommend a new thermocouple with a new pilot safety.

Bottom oven is not working - I set it but it isn't heating at all. There are no errors being issued, no gas odor. The top oven is working fine

Hi, open oven door, remove last panel, you will see oven burner, check pilot, if you see a small tube, manually strick a match and light it, then turn oven knob to on position, but if there's no pilot tube, then you got electrical ignition, could be faulty thermostat(knob you turn to put oven on) or thermocouple(device where oven burner conected too) could be faulty. but first check your oven pilot, it should be always lighting, sometimes, they get blown out. good luck.

Gas oven dosnt work

the pilot light is there for 2 purposes. number 1 to light the burner and number 2 to heat up the thermocouple, thermocouple is a wire that the flame from pilot suppose to surround by fire. if the pilot is to low it will not reach the thermocouple. you can take the gas line that supplies gas to the pilot and clean it with a safety pin or a small needle. you can test the thermocouple by heating it up with a blow torch on low heat, get it red hot and then turned on the oven. if the oven works clean the pilot, if the oven do not work, replace the thermocouple if separate from safety valve. if thermocouple is part of it replace the safety valve.

How do I turn my oven on!

The oven pilot will need to be lit, On the bottom there is the oven safety valve, it has a red button on it, you must depress the button and hold it with the pilot lit for 60 seconds, when you release the button the pilot should stay lit and the oven will be ready for operation using the thermostat (knob). Please note: if the oven has set unused for some time you may need to hold the red button for a long time to bleed the air out of the lines. The pilots for the top burners are actually right beside each burner. You may need to turn these pilots on, they are controlled by small valves (small brass screws on the gas manifold where the gas valves and knobs are located, look between the knobs). These small screws/valves will open the gas flow to the pilots when turned counter clockwise. If you open these valves and the pilots still do not work, they will need to be replaced. Hope this helps
