How do i get it down? where are the brackets? how was it put up? please help...
If you have a really OLD GE Spacesaver unit: I pulled mine out today. It has an outer cabinet (2 sides + Top + back plate with 2 bolts to studs). The core of the unit actually slides into this outer cabinet and 4 additional bolts through the bottom of the overhead cabinet secure it.To remove, then, 1-Unplug power cord, 2-Remove 4 bolts securing unit to bottom of cabinet, 3-Slide unit out of outer cabinet ( NOTE: If vented outside of the house you may have to manipulate the duct where it meets the microwave for sufficient clearance to slide the unit out ), 4-Remove 2 bolts securing the back plate to the wall studs. An extra pair of hands is recommended.
Her is a link that I hope with work that shows the bracket and how it was installed.
