Hp officejet J4580 will not print

Using the cd provided, it will run but freezes and abort installation

The scanner want scan because I never received the HP CD-ROM to load the program. Since I never received the CD-ROM fo my HP Scanner I need to know how to download this program or receive the CD-ROM. My Computer is new.

First do not plug the Printer USB cable

Start Installation and then when Setup asks to connect the USB cable Plugin to your system.
Make sure the Printer is connected and Powered ON during the initial setup.

Follow these steps to remove any installed or partly installed software, and then reinstall the software for the product. Step one: Uninstall the software

Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
Click Start , and then click Control Panel .
Click Add or Remove Programs .
Remove all items that are related to HP software. To do this, use the following steps:
1. Make sure that the option Change or Remove Programs is selected.
2. Click the HP software to uninstall, and then click Remove .
Restart the computer

In case you have McAfee anti Virus software install please make sure that it is not blocking the HP setup EXE files.

Can you print transparencies on a officejet j4580 all in one printer?

Yes, provided the transparencies you are using is heat resistance for laser printers.
If not heat resistance the film will melt onto the fuser drum, and this will damage your printer.

Comp freezes and "no scan options" message

try downloading the 2 firmware patches fro hp. go to www.hp.com select support, drivers and downloads, enter your printer model, and select your os. Halfway down the next page is the firmware section. Download and install.
