Have replaced hd wtih a new one,the hd shows up in the bois, but when i go to install operating system, get a message that says no hard installed.

What do you have your boot sequence set to in the BIOS? Make your CD/DVD drive first (or second if you have a floppy drive and make it first) and the HDD last.

Wayneard is correct. When you install a brand new hard drive as the ONLY hard drive in the computer, there is no operating system loaded. The computer will try to boot from the hard drive and stop. Switch your boot order to have the CD boot first, and be sure you have the operating system installation CD in your CD drive.

Also, double check your hard drive connections. Be sure it is in the "master" position on the hard drive cable. If there is a connection problem, the system will complain after CD start that there is no hard drive available to install the operating system on!

Good luck.

Oh, and of course, after you have installed the operating system, remove the installation CD. You don't have to change the boot order, as the system will find the operating system on the hard drive, but you can save a few seconds off the boot time by switching to the hard drive as the first boot device.

Replace hd with used hd.

You just do not drop in a replacement hard drive from another working computer and expect it to work. The replacement hard drive is now in a "foreign" environment and often will not work to protect the existing operating system. If you have the operating system disks you may be able to do a "repair" operation where the OS is given a chance to adjust to is new environment and install new drivers. If not, then all you can do is format the replacement unit and re install all of the software; everything is one drive is lost and you start from square one.

ACER ASPIRE 4710

This will occure for a couple of reasons.

1. Your hard drive has gone bad or the connectors have.
2. Your bois is set to boot from the network card, and not the hard drive.

1. boot to the bois, and look to see if it "sees" your hard drive. If not replace the hard drive. This will require you to install the OS and software.

2. Boot to the bois, check the boot order and remove or disable boot from LAN or PXE. If this is the problem you should now boot from the hard drive, if not you will probably still get the no OS found error indicating a bad hard drive (see 1 above).

Hope this helps

Boot up issues

You need to look in the Bois at the boot options. Select for it to boot from CD/DVD rom first (optional for booting from CD/DVD to reload os) second boot device would be the hard drive. Next see if you can disable the network or ethernet boot.
The indication above is that you have network or ethernet boot as an option for booting in the bois. If the boot order is simular to what I have listed above (network last), then your hard drive could be failing. Run a hard drive test and if it fails testing, back it up right away and replace it with a new hard drive.

Hope this helps

HI, I try to install new hard drive, but it show me operating system not found (because is nothing there,it's new HD), I install recovery cd and restart computer, must start recovery cd,but processer...

Your new HD needs to be formatted and partitioned.
Here is a link to a free and SAFE program that will format your new drive:

http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/seatools

Once you format the HD, your recovery cd will be able to find it!!

Hard drive died & replaced with a new hd

Make sure your pc is recognizing the drive before installing any program. If the drive is recognized but is still not booting, then reset your pc as soon as the pops up press f12 which will show a list of the booting order you of course will want to select cd drive or you can enter f2 and make the booting configuation changes thru your BIOS in the Booting Sequence. change the order or replace the drive or drivers and Voila Your good to go, Hope this helps

Good Luck =)
