Ge mongram ice maker blicking clean light

My 2004 ice maker has had the pump replaced (again) and has been cleaned several times with the Nickel solution and by hand. It runs a cycle, produces a sheet of ice on cutter, cutter seems to be working, but ice is not normal size, much smaller. After a cycle, it shifts to blinking clean light. Turn it off and back on, it will repeat. Seems a little warmer than normal, but not too hot. Help!?

I'm still perplexed with this problem. I have unplugged the machine before, to no improvement, but I just unpluggedit and plan to leave it unplugged for a few hours instead of a few minutes. I keep reading that there is some way to decipher hte blinking red light on the clean mode, but I cannot find out that code.

  • K Williams Oct 10, 2012

Update: Unplugged the machine for the entire day. Plugged it back in this evening and turned it on. Immediately started to work, pumping the water and made a sheet of ice. As the ice started to drop into the bin, I noticed the clean light was blinking aagain and it felt warm. Put a thermometer in the bin and it reads 52 degrees F and the front control panel feels warm to the touch. Any ideas from this?

Whenever the unit has reached a failure mode, the LED will flash, and the unit will shut down. If the failure was caused during a harvest cycle which lasted more than 16 minutes, the LED will remain flashing on & off in halfsecond increments. If the failure is caused by a faulty bin thermistor, (not detected), the LED will remain flashing on & off in 1-second increments. These are the only two failures that cause the unit to reach a shutdown failure mode. x During the Clean cycle, the control board performs the diagnostics first. If the bin thermistor is not detected, the LED will flash two times. This is followed by a 3-second delay. If the evaporator thermistor is not detected, the LED will flash on five times. This will be followed by a 3-second delay. The LED will then come back on, and remain on for the remainder of the Clean cycle, and until the unit is turned back on.

I have a Kitchen Aid under the counter Ice maker. When you power it on it cycles water and then the power button light flashes several times and powers off.

If your KitchenAid under-counter ice maker is cycling water but then powers off with the power button flashing several times, there may be a few possible causes. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Check the water supply: Make sure that the water supply line is properly connected and the water is flowing to the ice maker. If the water supply is blocked or not reaching the ice maker, it may not be able to function properly.
  2. Clean the condenser coils: Dirty condenser coils can cause the ice maker to overheat and shut off. Make sure to clean the coils regularly to prevent this issue.
  3. Check the drain pump: If the drain pump is not functioning properly, the ice maker may shut off to prevent water from overflowing. Check the drain pump for any clogs or damage and replace it if necessary.
  4. Check the water inlet valve: The water inlet valve is responsible for letting water into the ice maker. If it is not functioning properly, the ice maker may shut off. Test the valve for continuity using a multimeter and replace it if necessary.
  5. Check the control board: If all other components are functioning properly, the issue may be with the control board. Test the control board for proper voltage and replace it if necessary.

If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to call a professional technician to diagnose and repair the problem with your KitchenAid under-counter ice maker.

Kitchen aid clean light keeps on red and machine doesnot make ice

Hi,

This unit has a max ice run counter in the software, so after 500 cycles this unit requires you to run a clean cycle completely. After this is completed, it will rest and allow you to produce ice again, use nickel safe cleaner to do this or just run clean cycle without cleaner if unit is already clean. This cycle should last about an hour or so. Good Luck

The pump in my ice maker is noisy and I wonder what is the best product to clean it.

Is it the pump or the motor on the pump making noise? If motor then you need to replace the motor/pump assemble. if it is scale build up then you can try a scale remover scotsman or manitowoc nickel safe cleaner.

GE Profile Model PSS26LGSC Ice maker not working

Did the ice buildup appear to resemble the water overfilling the top of the ice maker? The only thing that I believe that may work is removing the ice maker, clean the excess ice buildup.dry and reinstall the ice maker and see it works. If the ice is above the normal level the ice can cause the motor that pushes the ice out of its slots to strain more than the gears or motor can handle stripping the gear or damaging the motor beyond repair, When harvest takes place the first thing that happens is a heater below the ice maker warms the cubes a little just enough to allow them to slide out of their slots and fall into the ice bin. The ice make for your model does not have replaceable parts and if bad or damaged it is less expensive and time consuming to by a new ice maker. If the water fills above the top of the ice maker it is usually the fault of the water control valve not closing all the way once it fills the ice maker after each harvest. Did water refill the ice maker when you cleaned it? Did the water overfill after you cleaned out the ice maker? What I am asking is water over filling ice maker again after you cleaned out the excess ice? If the water continues to flow from the WR57X10032 Water Inlet Valve

GE Monogram ZDIS15 has ice (sometimes) getting stuck on freezing plate. It gets hot & tries to release, but only partially (sometimes works fine). I have cleaned with solution, run the cleaning cycle...

It is time to run a ice machine cleaner through the unit, instruction should be on the door. When you get a build up is causes your ice to bind to the evaporator plate and cause this problem. Most ice machines require cleaning every 6 month to prevent this. Use nickel safe cleaner only, and most of the time this will correct the ice binding on that evaporator plate.
I hope this helps

What do I use to clean the calcium deposits in the ice maker? The note inside the machine says to use a bottle of Nickel safe ice machine cleaner by Nu Calgon.....Home Depot doesn't have it....Target...

CLR will work great, just rinse the ice maker very well after cleaning the calcium deposits and throw out the first few batches or bins of ice produced after the cleaning process. Good luck !
