Re Neff B1451 oven door not sealing against oven body at top

The door and seal look fine and undamaged but the door does not pull tight against the oven body at top so fair amount of heat comes out during oven use although doesn't affect cooking. There is ca 0.5cm 'slack' ie after closing the door ,the door top can be manually pushed against the top of oven another ca 0.5cm.
Is there any way of adjusting the door or hinges so that the door /seal sits 'tighter' against the oven body at top?
Or is there any other way of fixing the problem?

If you take the hinges off, you can fit some washers between the hinges and the door to make it close it further. Probably not as good as new hinges, but cheaper. 2mm of washers will close a 5mm gap

    Hi! This solution seems really good and cheap. Please let me ask you where exactly the washers should be put? Will it be the place where I hook the hinges in or do I have to take the door apart and put the washer somewhere there? Thank you for you reply!

This can happen if you put dishes on a open door or in my cas a child sitting on it. in that case. get a block of wood and a mallet. Give the the top bolds a controlled whack. and hey presto fixed.

    Hi ... I guess the same thing happened to my oven door ... Would you be so kind to tell me where exactly do I have to hit ("top bolds")?? Or if the hinges have to be changed ... where can I find the same hinges for a FRANKE (design glass) oven? Thank you!

The door hinges are not adjustable, the only solution is to replace both door hinges as it is the springs that are weak.

Unlikely there would be no air spilling through the door seal because it is an oven and not a watertight compartment. An oven door seal needs to be hard wearing and able to withstand high temperatures and hot grease which limits the materials used, that and the fact few domestic oven doors actually latch these days but are held closed by springs meaning the pressure against the seal is relatively light which means the door, the shut and the seal must be manufactured to a high degree of accuracy and properly adjusted.

If the amount or air leakage is excessive perhaps the door could be adjusted or the seal replaced. Try asking around to find someone with a similar oven so you can compare...

Neff oven has lots of steam coming out of it when cooking. granite top gets very hot also front pnel above oven where the controls are. Could it be the oven door seal has gone?

Oven door does not close properly
When you say "oven door does not close properly", do you mean that it closes but not tightly against the rubber seal on the oven cavity?
Or is it some other closing problem?

If it is the former, then it is a sign of the door hinge springs wearing out. The solution to this is to replace both hinges on the offending door.

HOW DO YOU REMOVE CONTROL KNOBS TO REPLACE THE ON THE NEFF B1451 OVEN
I have a Neff B1451 oven and have removed the thermostat knob just by pulling and wiggling it. Thats all you do. If then you want to rpelace the thermostat, there are two screws holding the unit onto the oven which are accessed by taking the silver metal shrouds off first.

Neff u1661n2gb/05. main oven not working and shorts out electric when try to switch on. top oven works no problem
I had a problem similar. The bottom oven stopped working and the left hand set of controls and clock died. I had three figure quotes for repair. I took the main control unit out from behind the switches, its a pain to do. I took pictures of where the wires went to save confusion later. I removed the main switch unit from the control unit by gently pushing back the inbuilt plastic clips. dont loose the small white connector piece on the end of the switch shaft. I gently pulled the switch knobs from the front then the knob extensions through the same holes. once the unit was out I turned it upside down I could see where two solder tracks on the circuit board had burnt out. I gently cleaned them up and bridged the gap with two short tinned pieces of single core wire I had stripped. I used a soldering gun as it gets really hot really fast and wouldnt damage the components underneath. the only fiddly bit when putting it back together was locating the bottom edge of the control unit in the little gulley, I had to bend the edge of the gulley down to make it easier. Once it was all back together it worked. Half an hour and I saved £300! Now I have to fix the hinges on the bottom oven door as it doesnt shut properly at the top. Any ideas anyone?

Heat escaping, uneven baking, longer cooking times
Either the seals need to be replaced, or you may have weak oven door hinges, and the door is not closing properly.
Only solution would be to replace both hinges if this is the case.

How do i fit new door seals for an neff u1421 double oven i have the seals
If the seals have what appears to be hooks at the corners, then unhook the old seals and re hook the new seals into the holes in the front of oven .
If no hooks, then the front of the oven needs to be unfastened.to replace the seals.
