My Belkin N wireless router is connected into my PC and i never have a problem.
I have two laptops which for some reason do not connect automatically. When i disconnect to the router and connect manually it connects.
However it alaways looses its connection, it drops from 54MBPS down ro 1 and then disconnects which is really annoying me, i never had this problem with my linksys router can anyone advise ?
Hi there!
There are a few reasons for unstable connection from your router. Here are a few things to check.
1. Make sure that your laptop has a fully functional wireless network card or adapter installed. Please also make sure that you have the latest driver installed for this device. If you have one, then...
2. Make sure that your router's firmware is updated.
Please download and install the firmware update that can be found on this site to resolve your problem:

Ensure that you are connecting ton your own network, and not to some neighbours unprotected network.
Ensure that your network is protected.
Check the router antenna is well screwed on the router.
Check that there are no obstacles between router and laptops.
Check all the points in my previous comment, and also ensure that there is no obstacle in the line of transmission, particularly a metal panel can lower down signal.
Also electromagnetic disturbance caused by wires and power adapter near to the router can cause similar problems.
Ensure that your network is protected. If the router is carrying too many undesired hosts, the line can cut out some of the IPs.
