SOURCE: Intake/drain light flashing
I have (had) the exact same problem with my Miele. Here is what (appears) to have fixed it:
1) Disconnect the inflow line at the water source. Its the connection that looks like a garden hose. Use a screw driver to remove the washer inside, the pull out the little filter with needle nose pliers. My was clogger with particles from the washer. Clean with soap and a tooth brush.
2) Disconnect the outflow line at the garbage disposal. My was moderately clogged with food (Note: my son overfilled the garbage disposal before running. It may have backed up).
This worked for now at least. Remeber, as irritating as red lights can be, it prevents the motors and pumps from burning out when you have clogged plumbing.

When this happens with my dishwasher it usually means that the drain is clogged with food/debris. To fix 1) remove bottom dish rack from machine 2) using a small cup, scoop out as much water as possible 3) remove inlet drain cover and unsnap the plastic insert and remove 4) rinse the plastic part and reinstall 5) start machine 6) if light still flashes, repeat steps 3 4 and 5 and restart

After cleaning the drain, looking at the intake (no filter on ours) and the light wouldn't go off, I just decided to take the ctrl-alt-delete approach and hit all the lower four buttons all at once, bingo, it cleared the light and machine started.

Hi,
F13 is an inlet fault.
First the unit drains and then fills with water. When the unit has intially drained open the door and manually fill the unit with water, about 5lts. This will then allow the dishwasher to go to the next step which is to circulate the water. If this works ok then the water tap is defective, water inlet valve is defective or the electronic unit is not sending the signal to activate the valve. The water inlet valve is the white square box attached to the tap. Remove this and check the filter and make sure water comes out of the tap.If ok then remove the bottom panel of the unit under the door. On the right hand side there is a 2 core cable with a male and female connector. Unplug this and check for voltage from the electronic when the unit goes to fill with water. If there is 240v then the electronic is ok. You will then need a new waterproof system from Miele.

I have exact same symptons, please someone help. I have had issue before where the plumbing backed up so it overflowed into the catch tray. Then that has to be vacummed out and then just start a new cycle. This time there is no water in the overflow tray....
