Outside garage door key pad will not function in very cold weathe

When our weather turns cold ( minus 20 to Minus 30 C the key pad seldom works. This is a very annoying problem. I have two neighbors who also have the same problem with their Lift Master key pads.. Changing battery does not help. The only way I can get it to function is by warming it for 3-5 minutes with hair dryer.

Is there a fix for this, perhaps a better quality key pad?

Yes, that is an issue.  My suggestion is to replace the outside keyless with a wired keyless (Domino GD-1).  This will get your batteries inside so they can stay warm.

Try increasing the 'down force'. You will find the control on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Increase it about 1/4 turn and try.

Garage door opener

You can turn up the up and down force on the motor head to give the unit more power. During colder weather the unit needs more power. Afterward do a 2x4 safety reversal test. thanks, BB
