mm I would try to make a cleaning head clycle first and then the aling option,, all these you can find on the Utilities from properties option on the printer.
If after these steps you have the same result.. try to change the ink cartridges,

just a clarification. .maybe its RX620, because there's no rx520.
anyways, trouble shooting goes like this...
turn off the printer first. lift the scanner, you should see the part where you install the inks, if you're there, check for paper jam or any foreign object, take it out then turn the printer back on. if paper jam is still showing, the printer is already having a hardware failure. i gues this printer is more than a year, if thats the case, it may be out of warranty for epson, bec, theyre warranty is for a year only,

Hello someone help please, I recently bought Epsom SX215 from amazon when I switch on it's tells me to selcet language after that I get this message: ERROR E-01

Check nozzle. Do head cleaning procedure from epson status monitor. wait for 15 minutes. Check nozzle again. Compare results from first and second nozzle check. Print out will perfect if the result of nozzle check as good as display pattern in nozzle check dialog box.
Instead of people just posting links to websites and instruction manuals or general drivers, it it more helpful to answer the question. The resolution to the issue of not being able to scan A4 directly from the RX520 is that you can't do it from the printers control panel. You need the software, Epson Scan. Do you see any error message on the screen or front panel of the printer? or are you getting blank printouts? try to run head cleaning cycles then try printing again.
