Water leaking from inside of freezer bottom

There is what appears to be mold along the inside back wall of the freezer. Water is leaking into the bottom of the freezer. While some ices up, alot of it leaks out along the seam onto the floor. The seal appears fine, the unit is level and the doors are shutting all the way. THe ice and water in the door features work fine as well.

SOURCE: Water not getting to dispenser, but does get to ice maker.

Hi All,
The fix to the "GE/Hotpoint Secret" frozen water dispenser problem is the Dispenser Water Tube Heater Kit, P/N WR49X10173 that can be purchased at Sears. Just a few bucks. My Hotpoint (model HSM25GFRA5A) had the same issue and GE would not tell me anything but required a technician to come out. The technician had no clue but after making some calls found the heater at Sears and ordered it delivered to me. He had to setup a return appointment but I canceled it after getting the parts and fixing it myself. The instructions are in the kit. Since most all GE/Hotpoint refrigerators (same model group of course) use the same parts/assemblies this will work for lots of folks. See pic below. If the area behind the cover looks like this it may be the part. Feel free to email me for help on this ([email protected]). Piece of cake.

SOURCE: FF200EP Fridge Freezer - water

I had the same problem, the fridge would leak overnight (usually) I found with some more searching the answer..... try it at you own risk!
Here are 2 detailed answers depending on your circumstances/technical ability....Turn off fridge....
1. Defrost fridge...catch all the water
or
2. Work quickly....
Remove drawers, at the back of the fridge there is a panel with 5 phillips screws (note that there are long and short screws). Remove the screws and the panel. (if you chose the second option then this will be "frozen in place" so you will get crunching noise when you peel it away - so be careful when removing it). At the top of the panel is a connector that powers the fan, squeeze the 2 sides in to remove. This will allow the panel/ducting to be removed from the fridge. (If you chose option 2 you will now probably see a large lump of ice over the drain hole).
Remove ice or debris from drain hole, re-asssmble not forgetting to connect the fan again!!!) then repower the fridge following the instructions as you will get the alarms... the fridge cools and the warning lights dissapear.......24 hours on mine is OK!

You have a plugged defrost drain. On hot point refrigs this is fortunatley a very easy repair you can do yourself. remove bottom basket and lowest shelf, ( for sake of room you may remove all shleving. I usually only remove the bottom 2) you will see a ledge coming up from freezer floor to under a rear cover. there will be ice build up on this ledge. clear all of the ice you see and you will uncover the drain hole. next flush hot tap water into the drain hole until it is clear. I use a turkey baster or large syringe to do this but you can push your finger in and out kind of like a plunger to clear the blockage then pour hot water thru line until if flows freely.
If you have any other questions leave them here and I'll be glad to assist any way I can. thanks Peyton

Water is standing in the bottom of the freezer. As it thaws when door is open it leaks out and pours water on the floor

Unclog the back-wall sink-hole with a wire.
Usually down on center of the back (inside)
Mostly sure is clogged by dirt and mold!

Ice maker is just pouring out water, not making ice cubes. Do I need a new ice maker? It is inside the bottom drawer freezer.

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

This is a open question. You did not provide a model number. Your model number is located in your fresh food section on the side wall near the top.

I am going to assume the water in the ice bucket is frozen. If this is the case then you have a leak in you icemaker mold. The mold cost more than a new ice maker, about $80.00.
25472320-3kd4nzpyfrydni0byqzalvn5-2-0.jpg Is this what you have? Go into the internet and you can get a new icemaker for about $40.00.
To replace: back off the two top screws. Remove the bottom screw. With a small flat head screw driver wedge into the back wall conduit connector and disconnect. Lift up and pull off the wall

Kenmore refrigerator model 363-58572892 side by side refridge/freezer. Water is appearing on floor in fron of freezer side. Appears to be coming from ice maker. Crack in cce mold? Clogged drain? filling...

Hello,

The water is from the melted frost of the defrost cycle. The drain at the bottom of the back wall of the freezer is blocked so instead of the water draining into the pan where it will evaperate,it's pooling on the freezer floor and freezing, in many case when the floor indent is full the water will leak onto the floor.By pulling the refrigerator out from the wall, there will be a tube behind the service panel on the right side when looking at it from the rear, that tube can be removed and cleared, then clear the nozzle it connects to inside the freezer.

I hope this helps you to stop the leak,
Gene

It is leaking water out of the bottom. It does not appear to be coming from inside the fridge or freezer. It does start on the bottom on the freezer side.

Without seeing your refrigerator I can only imagine that you have a drain pan leak below refrigerator, defrost condensate drain line loose or missing the drain pan, frozen over drain opening inside rear wall of freezer or the defrost condensate line is blocked somewhere along its route to the condensate collection tray below refrigerator.

Refrigerator leaking water

This sounds like the water line from the icemaker and the cool water reservior inside the refridgerator side. The line is a rigid plastic hose and could be a leak at one point that is small enough to allow water to run along the line. Also sounds like you have a humidity problem. Check the door seals and wipe them off and apply a thin coat of die-electric grease to the seal. this will help keep it pliable and soft.
The water in the bottom leaks into a trough that is made into the fridge. This usaully evaporates, This is for the auto-defrost. It keeps the water from getting on the floor.
Check to see if the outer door gets hot at the edges. If not, It may not be auto-defrosting.
I would first check the water line first as this seems to be a more serious issue right now. The line is probably loose at one of the connections between the ice maker and water reservior.

Door doesn't close properly, leaks water

If the door seals are still pliable and intact there are two possible causes.

1/ The upper door hinge on the top of freezer unit has two adjusting screws under a plastic cover/cap which allows the upper hinge to be set forward or back altering/adjusting the spacing of the door seal to the freezer body. Moving the hinge outward at the top will cause the door to seal tighter at the bottom and lessen escaping cold air and condensation to form (water droplets). Adjust carefully so as not to create a weak seal (air gap) along other sealing edges of the door frame.

2/ Many United Refrigeration Commercial Freezers are manual defrosting. Moisture from inside the freezer can condense between the inner molded door panel (door shelves) and the exterior metal door. Usually ice buildup will occur in this space, but when defrosting or during high ambient temps the ice will melt and drip out along the bottom door edge/seal. Screws alomg the door frame (hidden by the door seal) hold the seal in place and also the inner molded door panel. The inner panel can be removed to replace the seal or to remove the ice buildup.
