Hi SHADOWUK. I am in total absolute need of this "service light reset tool" you mention. I have a Hilti TE500 and a Hilti TE 705, both are chipping/hammer drills. These machines are my bread and butter, I would much appreciate a reply....you can reach me either at [email protected] ....or I can call you where ever you might be, just send your number.....mine is 1-778-708-8077, I'm in British Columbia, Canada (Vancouver). Cheers friend, I hope you'll respond, thanx. Oh, my name is Patrick....thanks again.
Hey man, wow, that service light resetting tool seems like the holy grail in the construction trade haha! I'm going out on a limb and hoping it's not "to good to be true". I have a Hilti TE500 and a Hilti TE 705. Both are chipping/hammer drills. My friend, these machines are my bread and butter, I would greatly appreciate any info you can give me on that service light resetting tool man, I'm in a serious jam.....My email is [email protected] alot man!
The carbon brush is connected with an extra wire if the brush is become to short the detector will arrived and become active and light will come up. its working hours is on it , best is to service it on the special parts neccesary for the next years.

Usually the service light comes on when the tool requires new brushes and o rings. I would first check the brushes for extreme wear. If they are O.K. the service light might reset like some other Hilti Hammers I work on. If you are comfortable with removing the whole handle assembly and separating it from the main section of tool you will see that there are prongs to lock into the electronic assembly (which is what you want) Now comes the tricky part. Plug in the handle and pull the trigger and while holding the trigger on unplug it. Reinstall the handle and see if this cures the problem. Some times it takes a couple times, but usually while trying this the light will blink and then go off. It is worth a try before sending in for repair. Good Luck and if any of the instructions are unclear before you try this let me know please.
Hello everyone there is a way to get around the hilti service light
Depending on its age and the electronics fitted. if it has the old type electronics, the service light will come on when the machine is due a service (about every 200 Hours) or if the carbon brushes need replacing.
once you have serviced the machine you need to reset the light. do do this, remove the black handle assembly from the main body of the machine. plug it in so that the handle has power, pull the trigger and hold until the light goes out. refit the handle and away you go.
Now if you have the new type of electronics, you will need to return it to hilti for a service, and reset as they have an optical interface which connects to the light from a PC. This can read all the operating data for the machine such as running hours, number of trigger pulls, how long the machine has been plugged in etc. You cannot reset the service counter without this interface and the correct hilti software.
I hope this helps.
