I have a Sony KDL-40V2000, about a week old. It exhibits a strange behaviour. It tuned all the local DVB-T stations without a problem and allowed me to set them up as per the manual. When I turn it on cold, it gives me a message that the signal is weak or non-existent and doesn't display a picture. If I turn it off, then on again, it works fine...perfect reception and picture on all stations. It's connected to a good antenna. The HDTV tuner card in my PC reports "Signal 100% 31db" and works fine. The TV is on a shorter cable run from the antenna splitter/amplifier than the PC. So it should have a slightly better signal, if anything. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. PS. I couldn't work out how to create a new model in this forum, so I had to post under the closest one I could find.
SOURCE: no signal sony bravia to dell laptop
Most laptops have a combination of buttons you have to press on the keyboard to get it to output on the monitor output. Try pressing the FUNCTION KEY or FUNC/FN key usually found in the bottom left hand side of the keyboard. Keep that button held down while press one of the number keys. Usually the number key will have a picture of a TV screen on it. Might be number 8 or 9. Press both keys at the same time a you can switch between laptop screen, Sony LCD or you can have both..
SOURCE: Am I able to install this tv obove a gas jetmaster
DO NOT - UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES subject a LCD or plasma Tv to any more heat than is absolutely necessary. One of the largest problems in either of these two units is dissapating heat. Adding to the problem would be like using gasoline to put out a fire...

Most likely this is caused by a defective main board. Changing the main board will fix the issue about 95% of the time.
To be absolutely sure, the voltages need to be checked on the power supply. If they are not the values listed in the service manual, then you should replace the power supply instead (accounts for the other 5% of the time).
SOURCE: TV Cable card slot loses signal immediately after channel find
THis is not a solution but a similiar issue. I have had a scientific Atlantia Cable card with comcast for 3 years no problems at all. Spent the entire day trying to switch to Verizon today. The signal comes across for about 10 seconds, pixelates and then fails. This happen after every start. We have checked the lines, tried 2 cards and reduce the signal. We gave up for today- installed the old Scientic Atlantic, reassigned it to comcast and all works fine Any and ALL suggestions are most welcome Thanks
