SOURCE: Panasonic NN-T687 (The Genius) door

You will need to remove the oven from the frame, then remove the outer cover from the door.

Once the outer cover's off, you'll be able to see that door opening button presses against the door opening lever, which presses up on the door key/hook to open the door.

Usually the problem is a broken door opening lever.

You can order that part directly from Panasonic here.

Once it's fixed, if you want to download the owner's manual, it's here.

SOURCE: Door Release Button not working on Panasonic Microwave NN-T664SFT

The problem I had experienced with the Door not opening easily will be resolved by removing the micowave oven top cover with a tamper proof torx head, replacing the door switch and reinstalling the top cover.

Microwave keeps running with door open

I'd say the door interlock switch has failed, and supplies a connection when it should not. Microwave ovens can be dangerous to anyone poking around inside, even when unplugged, so get a quote from a service tech. You might find that parts+labour is almost as much as a new one.

Microwave radiation being released through an open door is also a hazard, as it is known to cause eye cataracts, so don't get near if the oven does this.

Door for oven opens freely now.. im looking for a quik way to fix this issue without taking the whole unit off my wall..... Model # KEMS376BTLO

Hi,

I am confused as to what issue you are having, this unit is a micro combo and which unit are you having issues with? Micro has a handle for a door release and oven has a pull door handle. Please get back to me with more information so I can assist you.
Also Model number is KEMS376 ------- starts with S or T

Microwave oven will not start but the light stays on even when door is open.

One of the micro switches in the door is stuck ( faulty ) there are normally 3 switches so after removing the lid open and close the door and you will see the door latches pressing in the button of the micro switch and one of them would indicate that one of the switches is not in line with the latch to press the button in or one of the micro switches has melted inside cosign the switch to release normally open or normally closed, you need a multimeter to test the switches in that case

NN-T994SFR. Inclosed light stays on and the indicator states the door is open.

It is micro switch when you close the door, the door latch push in a button on the micro switch take lid off open and close the door and see if you can spot a button not popping out properly or the latch not in line with the switch

How do I change the door hooks on a panasonic micro?

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screw(s) you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

A Panasonic service manual covering some models is here.
