My JVC KD-R426 keeps on saying warning check wiring and reset system. I've tried everthing but it still does the same. What must I do

We were told to press the reset button 3 times - this does not work. I've also disconnected the unit and placed it into another car - it still does the same

Not sure if this will help any other owners since my answer is 4 years late, but this is what I found from another user. Apparently if you mess with the wiring too often, it goes in a safe mode which you need to do some button trickery to unlock the device from it's safe mode. These are the Steps.
1.Disconnect power supply
2.Press [MENU] and [UP arrow] buttons and keep holding.
3. While holding the buttons [MENU] / [UP arrow], connect the power plug again
A. The display will show "DC ERR"
*** if it still shows "Chk wiring ..." repeat the steps above until you get "DC ERR."
4. Press [UP arrow]; the display shows "DC1 ERR"
a. Press and hold [UP arrow] and it will show "DC1 OK"
5. Press [Down arrow], the screen will show "DC2"
a. Press and hold [DOWN arrow] and the display will show "DC2 0"
6. Disconnect the power from the back of the unit.
7. Remove the Face Unit.
8. Reconnect the power from the back.
9. Use a sharp object and press the [RESET] hole for 3 seconds and release.
10. Reinstall the face unit and turn on the power.

SOURCE: JVC head unit problem

Do you have a "RESET" button on your stereo? Check your owner's manual to find it. I have a JVC unit in my car and the reset button is a small hole behind the detachable face. Take the end of a pencil or a pen and insert it in the tiny hole and hold for a few seconds. This should reset the stereo so you can get the CD out. Hope this helps...

SOURCE: JVC KD-R610 is stuck in Protect mode

Try disconnecting your battery, reconnecting it, and resetting your stereo. If that doesn't work, the constant power (yellow wire) or ignition wire (red wire) may have come in contact with ground or isn't properly connected. Make sure everything is connected properly and try resetting your stereo. If it is still flashing "protect", the unit needs servicing Contact JVC Customer Care Center at: 800-252-5722.

Reset button in kd-r426 and how reset

To reset your KD-R426, locate the reset button on the unit. This is usually located behind the faceplate. Once you've found the reset button, press and hold it for about five seconds. After a few seconds, you should see the message "RESET" appear on the display of your stereo. At this point, you can release the reset button.Your KD-R426 should now be reset and working properly. If you have any questions, or if you need help resetting your stereo, please consult your owner's manual or contact a qualified technician

I have a jvc kd-r45 it keeps on saying warning unit check wiring then reset

The check wiring message suggests a short probably in a speaker wire. Check that the terminal leads for the speakers are properly covered in insulating tape. Check the rest of your wiring, if you can, to check for any section where the insulation is worn and could come into contact with anything. Next remove the faceplate and use a pen to press and hold the reset button. The button is near the bottom of the middle of the receiver.

If the error persists, then another section of the wiring is making metal on metal contact with the car or another wire. You should contact a JVC dealer or the company that provided the kit with the KD-R45.

I hope this helps.

If you have a multimeter, try checking the speakers and speaker wires for shorts and/or grounds. Make sure your speaker wire has no bares spots. If the speakers and speaker wires all check out good, you may have a bad internal output ic.
