This ice cream maker comes with 2 bowls. One bowl is fixed in the unit and cannot be removed. The second removable bowl should have a handle on it. To move the motor assembly rotate it clockwise and slide the assembly backwards. This should allow access to the bowl.

Place the mixer bowl in the freezer. The amount of time required depends on the temperature of your freezer, but you should expect to leave it in the freezer for about one day prior to use. To check if the bowl is frozen, shake it gently. If you don't hear any liquid sloshing around inside, it's ready to use.

  • 2

Place the mixer bowl onto the motor base when you're ready to make ice cream. Insert the mixing paddle into the bowl and place the cover over the bowl.

  • 3

Turn on the ice cream maker and pour the ice cream mixture into the hole at the center of the appliance until it reaches the fill line. Do not exceed the fill line, as the ice cream will increase in volume as it freezes. Use the low setting if you want a firm ice cream and the High setting if you want a softer consistency. Do not add nuts, candy or chocolate chips at this stage as they can become hung up in the mixing paddle and stop the machine.

  • 4

Cover the center hole with the cap and allow the ice cream maker to run for 30 to 45 minutes.

  • 5

Add mix-in ingredients such as nuts and candies two minutes before shutting down the machine.

  • 6

Turn off and unplug the machine prior to removing the ice cream from the bowl. GE recommends using plastic or rubber utensils to avoid scratching the inside of the mixer bowl.

Is there a trick to removing the shaft that turns the beater on a Taylor ice cream machine? I often have trouble removing one or the other shafts when cleaning the machine.

Most likely your alignment is off on the gear box that has the coupling attached to it, you can try to lift the box up alittle after loosening the bolts and just tighten one and recheck until it pulls out freely with no effort

Lumina (Aldi) ice cream maker instructions

    Before using the first time:
    1. Remove all of the packaging.
    2. Wash the parts. (the paddle & the bowl only)
    3. Eight hours in advance, place the inner bowl into a freezer.
    4. Prepare the ice cream or sorbet mix (see recipe ideas)
Allow the mix to cool in the refrigerator.
FYI, I freeze the inner bowl overnight instead of the eight hours as stated in the manual.
    Good luck!

Cuisinart Ice Cream Freezer Bowls Not Freezing Anymore

I would take the freezer bowls out of the freezer, run them both under the sink to thaw both bowls out, dry both bowls thoroughly, and then set them both on the counter so that the liquid settles toward the bottom of the freezer bowls. After 1 hour, place the bowls FLAT back into the freezer - don't forget to wrap them in a plastic grocery bag or some other sort of plastic bag. Try to make ice cream again after 24 hours or more of freezing. Let me know if this works, so I can pass the good news along to others.

    Ice cream not firm

The freezer bowl is sensitive. Go ahead and thaw it out until you can hear the liquid swishing around inside - usually letting warm water run through it is sufficient for thawing. Then refreeze the bowl, making sure the bowl is sitting flat/level in the freezer. When making ice cream with this unit, letting the freezer bowl sit out for even 20 minutes can unfreeze it enough so that you only get sludge. Do not remove the freezer bowl until you are immediately ready to pour the ingedients into the bowl. You can even pre-chill your ingredients by letting the ingredients sit in the freezer for about 15 minutes - although I have found that this usually has the opposite effect of what you have just experienced --> the ingredients usually freeze up so fast that the mixing paddle is no longer able to turn.

    Good luck!

Undependable freezing - sometimes will, sometimes won't!

High room temperatures will throw this unit off BIG TIME. Just to give you an idea how sensitive the freezer bowl is - if you run cold water along the freezer bowl before putting your ingredients in, the COLD water is enough to unfreeze the bowl! Don't remove the freezer bowl from freezer until you are immediately ready to begin mixing - not 5 minutes earlier.

My freezer bowl not freezing anymore I let in the freezer more the 24 hours and it's still liquid

Thaw the bowl and re-place it in the freezer - make sure it is sitting perfectly level. Don't remove the freezer bowl until you are immediately ready to pour in the ingredients - letting it sit out for even 5 minutes will be too long, as it thaws quickly.
