Can't get channel label off of sony trinitron tv and do not have original remote, only universal with no

get a SONY universal remote number RM-U302 it needs no codes just press the SONY item say in your case TV and the remote will self calibrate to your type

The original remote control number to this set is {RM - Y198}. If you buy its original one, contact the nearest authorized service center for Sony. The universal remote control codes for Sony Brand Tvs are: 0128 0013 0002 0071 0380
If you wish to buy a universal remote control, check whether there is these codes with its code list. The code list will be attached with every universal remote control pack. Make sure there are these codes with it.
In my opinion, it will be best to buy its original one. Original is Original, and Universal is Universal!!

There is a button on the remote labeled display that must be hit to remove the on screen display. You can use any Sony TV remote so you may want to check out GoodWill for a used one. Sony also has a universal available but it may be hard to find, maybe Radio Shack. There is no other way of turning off the OSD.

adjust the manual fine tune

Press (on your regular remote for your satellite) the t.v. button, then press info, this worked for me and I tried everything. another viewer posted this solution and it worked great! this is not the original remote, it is the satellite remote.

You cannot without the original remote unit. Dont try to get a cheap universal remoter as that will not work as well. To get the original remote, go to http://rwww.remotes.comor call 1-800-remotes and order the original remote. you will not only be able to get rid of the channelk label, you will get full use of the tv functions.
