Maybe it's the safety device that prevents the door closing if there is an obstruction. Many of these have a reflector mounted near the floor on one side and an infrared light on the other side. If either end it obstructed, the door won't close.

Simple ,find the smart button on your machine ,it will be where all the bell and infrared wires are connected ,which is also the logic board of the machine , this smart button is usually brightly colored /orange /red /purple / green/ when pushing this button in for a second or two makes a small led light lightup next to it and it will be a solid light ,at this time you want to go to your keypad and put your 4 digit code in and then press And Hold the Enter button until the lights flash on your garage door opener , those flashing lights on the opener are telling you the machine has recieved the code from the keypad , See told you it was simple ,you,ll have no problems ,just follow my instructions to the letter and it will work , GUARANTEED ! Thank you for letting me help you and if i was a help ,please help me and leave a nice rating Sincerely Glenn Mayer

Light flashing and it won't close

This is either a misaligned or bad sensor. you can move the sensor up and down until it gets a green light. They must be aligned or the GDO will think there is something in the way. otherwise, it could be wiring. These don't really go bad.

LiftMaster Gargage door opener problem

The door obstacle detector(reversing switch) needs adjustment, or the down limit sensor needs adjusting, or one of the lift springs is loose or broken. First, remove power from the opener, pull the red door release rope, and try to lift the door up manually. You should be able to lift it all the way open with litle effort. If it opens ok, pull the door down about halfway and let go. If it is properly balanced, it should stay where you left it. If the door fails either one of these tests, it needs spring replacement or adjustment. If the door moves ok, refer to your owners manual on how to adjust the reversing switch, linit switches, and photocell sensors at the door bottom.

Garage door won't close

your door travel screw is set to go too far on the downward travel. you need to set the down travel. It is set to go too far down. find the screw adjustment on the unit that says close and back off the screw a full turn until door stops short of floor. then start turning screw other way until door just touvhes floor.
