Be careful using this TV. There is a fault somewhere. No TV should ever do that, cold or not. Replace or repair it

I would suggest having the Y and Z Sustain boards replaced

SOURCE: LG 42

One of your system boards is failing. Possibly the "Y" convergeance board. The LCD Capacitors will most likely have to be replaced.

SOURCE: LG RU-42PX11 42 plasma TV has black bar

it seems to be a bad connection somewhere but I disconnected the ribbon cable and got a verticle line of snow instead of a blank line. the line is about 34 mm wide and starts 285 mm from the left edge starts on the Blue and goes to the Red pixels. so if they are 1mm wide that would be 34 bands of color.

I would sure like to figure out the solution to this one or I got a TV I need to throw away cause the o'lady is gonna bust my balls if I can't fix this!

SOURCE: red line down right and left side of 42" LG plasma.

Hello; I am John at J D Electronics in Poland, Maine. I have an LG TV that was donated to me. It is a plasma model DU-42PX12X. It had 1 inch wide red and green vertical bar on the right and a blue and yellow on the left. These bars appeared intermittently. pressing on the control board would make the bars go away. I have read many blogs on this problem and they all say to replace the control board located under that huge A / V input board ( held in by 4 screws on the large aluminum frame). The original part is # 6871QCH038A The replacement ends with a C instead of an A Aprox 90 to 135 dollars. This board is used on many different LG and Zenith models and is a HIGH failure rate part. I like to know WHY parts/boards fail and I found out why this board fails. There is a large square IC in middle of the board aprx 1 1/8 inch square. This type of IC is called BGA or Ball Grid Array. The solder connections cannot be seen , since they are under the IC . This IC was not properly soldered at the factory and that is why hundreds of these sets failed. I used my hot air soldering station on it's highest setting to heat up this IC . The IC must be directly heated from the top and some heat on the bottom of the PC Board. Liquid flux should applied to the 4 side edges of the IC prior to heating. The bars are now gone! To get to this board, remove all perimeter screws and all middle screws of the back cover. The A V board will hinge back to expose the control board if you unplug the cables to the side inputs and the one to the button board. The set will still run face down on a table with something to prop up the bottom screen so you can watch the bars. If the set was run for a long time with the bars, there will be some darkening where the bars have " burned" the screen. This is perminent, but usually acceptable.

Vertical black bar on my LG 47" LCD shifting the image to the right

Two possibilities are there. The first one is, with loose LVDS cable, that connects the T'Con board to display panel. The second is the fault with its main digital processor board.

Hello
There must be some loose contact with the t'Con board of your tV. Just look for it. Just unplug and replugh all the strip wires goes to T'Con board. This must solve the problem to your Tv. OK.

My LG led has had several problems, it started out with the left half of the screen flipping as if viewed from a mirror with the right part of the screen normal. After that, it displayed vertical colored...

This problems are a very tipical of the coded pixels on the LCD screen panel passes through the board that call the T-CON decoder board to causing this problems.Vertical colors lines display on the LCD screen panel happen by itself.Yes.The T-CON decodering board it is dying and shorting out. This T-CON decodering board sit in the middle at the botton of the LCD screen panel.Replacing this T-CON decodering board will solved this problems,if does not the LCD screen panel itself it is shorting out, than the tv it is not worth fixing, because changing the whole LCD screen panel itself it is not practical and the cost will be the same as a new tv itself.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish T-CON decodering board for the replacement.

LG LCD TV - Buzzing Sound and Faint Horizontal Lines

From your description, the sound you are hearing is the inverter(s) that drive the back light for the LCD screen/module.
The inverters mounted on the back side (one lower right and one left side) of the LCD screen/module. They are under the sheet metal cover/shields.
The inverters are going out and or the LCD screen/module is going bad too.
That LG TV has only a 1 year on parts and labor from the date of purchase, but you could call LG and ask for their help for such a new TV. They might do it under a warranty, for little or no cost to you.
I hope this information has helped you.
Good Luck.

Vertical line on LCD TV Panel

Had this same issue on right side of 52" about 1 inch from side but had 3 vertical lines that disappeared after 40 minutes. Have Samsung LNT5265FX/XXA and about 16 months old. LCD Panel itself had to be replaced to fix it, fortunately had extended service plan
