I need a spare key

keronadecora: The way the ignition lock assembly based on Kia's factory manuel, is to drop the steering column and get it to the point where you have access to the attaching hardware which passes through the clamp holding the lock assembly to the column. Once you have dropped the column down to where you can see the bolts which go through the back side of the clamp, you will notice they have no head for either a screw driver, socket or wrench of any kind.
The bolts are called "SHEAR" bolts, Meaning that once they have been installed and reached their predetermined tightness, the heads shear off leaving what appears to be just a smooth top similar to that of a carriage bolt.
To loosen the bolt, get a small chisel and catch the very edge of the bolt. As you hammer the chisel into the top of the bolt, you are catching just the outer edge making it rotate counter clockwise.
You loosen both bolts this way to remove the clamp off the column. Now you have the lock assembly to carry down to the locksmith. Commonly the bolt is an 8mm 1.25 X what ever the length is that you removed. Occasionally, they use 6mm 1.0 thread X ??
Another option is to remove the passenger's front door lock. Check with the locksmith first, but I believe they can make a key from it as well.
I'm not sure about Kia, but I know that with Nissan, Toyota and Honda. They can cut a key from the VIN number on the car.
The 17 numbers and letters located on the lower left hand corner of you windshield in the dash. Call the parts department first and tell them that you had lost your key, ask them if they are able to cut a key from the vin and if so, what will they require from you so that they will cut it for you?
Good luck.

Two large bolts secure the bench in place. Remove them. Three large bolts sechur the backrest in place. Remove them. Lift the backrest up until it unhooks from the three supports near the top. You will the be able to remove the plastic panels leading to the trunk. They are secured with small plastic retainers. Good luck. Takes about 15 minutes.
