When the door is closed the drain cycle runs for one second and stops. This is consistent wtih closing the door, cycled through this process 5 - 6 times. I also cannot reset the code or dishwasher. Quick Wash is also illuminated, no other buttoms. Thoughts? Temp sensor?
See this causes and fix it. God bless you
Thermal Fuse
If the dishwasher won't start the thermal
fuse might have blown. The thermal fuse helps to prevent damage to the
dishwasher by turning off power so that it doesn't overheat. Once blown,
the thermal fuse will have to be replaced for the dishwasher to work.
Door Switch
The door switch, or switches, are sometimes
called interlock switches. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from
running while the door is open. If the dishwasher won't start, the
switch or switches might be defective. To access the door switches,
remove the control panel or inside door panel - depending on the model.
They can be tested for continuity.
Main Control Board
The main control board provides power to
nearly every component of the dishwasher. If the dishwasher won't start
the main control board might be defective. YOU should first check for
more common parts. Many times control boards are replaced unnecessarily
because the problem was not diagnosed properly.
Touchpad and Control Panel
If the touchpad is defective, the control
board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the
dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly
when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced. On
some models the touchpad and control panel are sold together and will
need to be replaced at the same time.
Touchpad
If the touchpad is defective, the control
board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the
dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly
when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced.
Timer
The timer allows power to flow to the proper
parts at the proper times. If the dishwasher won't start, the timer
might be defective. Keep in mind that timers are often misdiagnosed as
the cause of a problem. Check other components first before replacing
the timer.

Sounds like the control module is out -- cost about $100 (I am on my third). I got a "lifetime" warranty when buying my second one. If you are handy, you can replace it yourself. You can call Bosch to confirm this (I did). It mounts inside the door. Mine is a BOSCH 5316.
The draining problem may mean a clogged drain hose -- you have to check it all the way back to either the main drain or the garbage disposal (if you have one). This may be what forced off the impeller wheel.

Hi,
It sounds as if the main program board has developed a fault - as it should come to a complete stop. The fact it kept the water valve open with the door open is a serious fault- so I would have it checked before using it again.
Most machines have a water-stop feature - so if it develops a leak - it will shut off the water. This clearly didn't happen.
SOURCE: DISHWASHER DRAINING POORLY
the drain on that model activates about 4 times for a couple seconds before it go into the continual drain. it does that so debris can fall downwards easier during the drain. its also supposed to have about 2-3 inches of water left below the iron mesh filter when its complete, if its above the filter than you have a drain problem. if you do have a drain problem then yes check your airgap first if you have one to make sure that isnt clogged. if your issue still exists then send a message, im sure we can figure it out

It is draining because it thinks it is flooded. Remove the plinth at the base after turning off the power. Remove two plastic pieces at base and open the base. Mop out any water you find in there and put your hand in to the back left of the machine. There you will find a reset toggle which rises when there is too much water in the base. Reset this and after making sure all water has been removed close up everything and it should work for you. Please remember to turn off at mains before you do this.

Hello,
Based on your description I'd say the issue is with the control. Bosch has had a history of this exact problem I'm about to lay out for you and this is the first thing I'd be looking for if called out to service the unit with the symptoms you've described. Heck if you called me with this description I'd be happy to bring you a new control and have a first time complete. ( unless you requested a re-solder option...see below re: my opinion on this )
I digress,
As I've alluded to the issue is within the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ).
My first suggestion would be calling in an authorized bosch servicer if that is an option for you and your budget however, If you cannot afford that option or feel capable of checking this on your own, there`s a way to visually inspect the control yourself. It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit sit`s and takes forever to finish and eventually display's the "1" error ( on models with a display ) because it can`t heat to advance or unless the 2 buttons for "cancel" are pressed.
**My Opinion - if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...but it has to be done well...or it will not last, although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on there behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)**
**Please disconnect the power before attempting any service to the dishwasher. If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau, to service your machine.**
Hope this answer`s your question, let me know if I can assist you further.
