That usually means that the lens you have mounted on the camera is not set to its smallest aperture (ie 22). It needs to be set that way so that the camera can control the full spectrum of aperture positions when shooting in one of the auto program modes.

My olympus fe ditigal camera wont take pictures / show the picture screen. the lens freeze whenever i turn it on, and the only way to make them go down is to open up the battery slot while its on and turn...

You may want to check out Olympus website for your specific camera. If you do not have a manual for your camera, you can download one there.

http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_support_product.asp?id=1260

You may need to reset your camera somehow and hopefully, you will find information about it there.

My only other guess is that you may have a low battery situation. Even rechargeable batteries need to be replaced over time. You can try replacing the battery and see if that solves your problem.

Good luck!

Whenever i connect the camera to my computer nothing happens . Its like its not even connected and i want to upload pictures

Try and find your camera's driver to download on your computer. Or upload your pictures using your SD card, and not direct through your USB camera.

Can't take a picture

Set your aperture to the maximu f stop number, that means the minimum aperture, and your camera will work. Take out the lens and align the ring to set it to the minimum aperture. I shall paste a link down here so that you can refer in detai.

Try resetting the camera. Go the setup menu , reset all, OK.
Reset cannot be done if the camera is connected to the computer or printer.

The camera requires you to set your lens aperture at the minimum setting, usually orange coloured. I.E. f22 f32. Nikons control the aperture through the camera, not setting the ring manually like old style SLR's

Blank Screen and faulty shutter blades

I found out the hard way that you should never use alkaline batteries in a Digital Camera. I thought my camera had a fundamental flaw (power kept going off whenever I tried to take a photo or record a video and the shutter blades half closed) even though it was only 2 months old. I nearly wrote it off but all along the problem was that I was using alkaline batteries, which incidentally were enclosed with the camera in the box!! Once I switched to NiMH (Nickel) batteries the camera worked fine and the fault completely vanished! These NiMH batteries are avaiable in most electrical shops i.e currys/comet in the UK. They must be charged before use. They are more expensive than alkaline batteries (£8-£9 for 4) but as they are rechargable they last a long time.
