Hi just follow the below steps and the problem will be resolved.

Solution:
Step one: Verify that the Digital Imaging Monitor is ready

The Digital Imaging Monitor must be running in order for the Scan To function to work. The Digital Imaging Monitor icon normally appears in the system tray at the lower-right corner of the computer screen, and the monitor is ready when a check mark appears on the icon after Startup is complete.

If the Digital Imaging Monitor is in the system tray, proceed to Step two.

If the Digital Imaging Monitor does not appear in the system tray, follow these steps.
Windows 98, Me, and XP

1.Click Start , and then click Run .
2.In the Open text box, type msconfig .
3.Click OK .
4.In the System Configuration Utility window, click the Startup tab.
5.Search the list for HP Digital Imaging Monitor .
6.If HP Digital Imaging Monitor is not on the list, the driver was not correctly installed or a custom install was used. 7.Proceed to step three to uninstall and reinstall the software.
8.Select the HP Digital Imaging Monitor check box.
9.Click Apply , and then click Close .
10.Click Yes to restart.

Windows Vista

1.Click Start .
2.In the Start Search text box, type msconfig and press Enter .
3.On the User Account Control window, click Continue . The System Configuration Utility window displays.
4.Click the Startup tab.

Step two: Populate the destination list

1.The destination list must be populated in order for the Scan To function to work. Follow these steps to populate the destination list.
2.Open the HP Solution Center. Use one of the following methods to open the HP Solution Center.
3.On the Windows desktop, double-click the HP Solution Center icon.
4.On the taskbar, click Start , Programs , or All Programs , click HP , and then click HP Solution Center .
5.If more than one HP device is installed, click the tab for the All-in-One product. The HP Solution Center shows only the functions, settings, and support options that are appropriate for the selected HP product.
6.Click Settings .
7.Click Scan Settings and Preferences .
8.Click Scan to... Setup .
9.Click the Destination List tab.

NOTE: Depending on the computer performance, it can take several minutes for the Front Panel Destination List to populate after the printer or computer is turned on.

10.If the Front Panel Destination List is empty, continue with this procedure.
11.If the Front Panel Destination List contains valid scan destinations, proceed to step three to uninstall and reinstall the software.
12.Click each program to include on the Scan To list.
13.Click the Add arrow.
14.Click OK .
15.Scan a document using the Scan To button on the front panel.
16.If the scan fails, try to scan using the HP Solution Center Scan button.
17.If the scan still fails, proceed to Step three to uninstall and reinstall the software.

Step three: Uninstall and reinstall the software

1.Insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive of the computer. The software installer should automatically start.
2.If the software installer does not automatically start, complete the following steps.
3.Click Start , and then click Run .
4.In the Open text box, type X:\setup , where X is the letter of the CD-ROM drive.
5.Click OK .
6.On the installer screen, click Uninstall . If there is no Uninstall option, the software installation is incomplete.
7.Insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive of the computer. The software installer should automatically start.
8.If the model supports custom install, install HP Imaging Device Functions to scan from the printer. The recommended install will install this feature automatically. It must be manually selected during a custom install.
9.Follow the onscreen instructions until the printer software is completely installed.
10.After successful installation, scan a document.

Step four: Service the product

If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.

Thanks
Riz

Will Only Scan Color and single sided

Once I had a similar problem with CapturePerfect 2.0. No amount of setting will change the scan output. I hit the default option and then changed to the setting I wanted. It worked. May be there is a bug in the Scanning software.

You will have to login to the Safe mode option and run a spyware scan.

Kindly download and install Malware Bytes application which is a freeware and easily available in web. Once installed follow the steps below

Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Turn on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Safe Mode".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.

One you are in the Safe Mode Run the Malware bytes scan (Quick Scan)

HP LaserJet 3050 - can't scan to a pdf format

This is the only solution I found within the software. I went to the actual printer and hit the 'scan to' button. I selected SETUP from the menu options. It pulled up some software on my computer that shows the interface between the computer and the printer. I hit the NEW button. The next screen gave me some options and there was a checkbox option that said 'Show the TWAIN dialog after the scan...'. I checked that box. When I went to the next screen, it offered me PDF as an option and I made that my default. This process sets up a new menu option on your drop-down list when you scan. I named it 'PDF to computer' so I would know to pick it for pdfs. I tried to add it to the list of options available on the printer menu, but the new option I created disappeared after I hit UPDATE. But when I tried to scan something it was showing on my options list. When I tested it, it opened some software I never saw before and showed the image as it scanned, which I guess relates to the checkbox I marked. I've tried several times for hours at a time to find any kind of fix for this that didn't involve converting a file to pdf or loading a different software. This fix I found on my own just by hitting buttons on the printer. If you don't like this option, there is some free software out there that uses the scanner to create pdf's. I just didn't want to go that way.

Help with hp officejet j4680 all in one printer.

If you are trying to do this from the printer, open your HP Solution Center on your computer. Click Settings, then Scan Settings, then select Scan To setup. I added everything from the list. Then you just click Update the device. Then you should be able to scan from the printer to your computer.

To check, scroll over to Scan, click OK, you should see Scan To, then hit OK again you should see your computer, hit OK again to see the available scan options, use the arrow to find what you want to scan, then just hit OK again to start your scan.

Morning, I need to scan a hard copy page on to my computer...not sure of the steps? I put page under the lid and hit scan button...

Normally, You can scan from scanner or your computer. Either way, you will have to save it onto your computer. If you hit the scan button, it should pull up the scan software for you, with options and preferences for you to choose from. If this is just for records/storage purposes, just choose the default settings and save it under a name and location you will remember. Hit scan and you should be good to go...
