Try this.
Turn on the TV. While holding down V on the remote control, press POWER
on the TV. (The TV will turn itself off, then back on again.) Release V.
WARNING: The Reset will clear all of your customized settings

SOURCE: sony bravia kdl-42v4100 no picture no sound

Hi,

Sounds like there is a short on the power board or the power board has gone faulty.

Look on the power board to see if any of the capacitors are bulged or if there are any other components burnt out. The TV is going into protect mode because of an over current, which points to a short on the board or a component has gone short circuit.
Thanks

SOURCE: vertical lines on sony kdl-46v3000 bravia lcd tv

i have the same problem, apparently the LCD panel needs to be replaced and this will cost more than the tv is worth... Advice is to not buy a sony again, because this is a common problem and they wont extend the warranty, even if its 2 weeks after it runs out...

SOURCE: I need a replacement screen

You can try contacting www.shopjimmy.com
It will be more than the TV is worth, better off selling the TV for parts on EBAY, then use the money toward the new TV. LCD panels are limited production run, and it is the most expensive of the whole TV.

SOURCE: Can not change the channels on my Sony Bravia

Is this the original remote or a universal remote? Can you change the channel with the buttons on the right side of the TV?

Can you type in a channel number and go to that channel? (this applies if the channel will not change with the buttons on the TV.) Try to rescan the channels (it could be that the TV has the other channels hidden (or lost the list).

If it is a universal remote, you may not have the correct code (just a close one). Try additional codes for Sony TVs. Also when was the remote built? If it was programmed more than 6 months before the TV was released, then it will not have the correct codes. You would need a newer remote. A substitute remote can be obtained from https://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/accessories/web/productSearch.do?sessionId=4q4-Cd8shqFs_c5rcVcD_Lw or http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=KDL-V32XBR1&uuid=12842263276080 .

I hope this helps.

My TV lost the picture. Pushing on the indicates no back lighting. The Standby LED was giving a single and intermittent flash but now nothing. All PS voltages are present.

Single flash indicates main board fault. These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
