Power light is flashing amber, black screen

Hello,
You have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors
will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called
capacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you are
good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm
You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts,
replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work
fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and -
connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the
same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

try another monitor -
if it works - go into monitors and remove the drivers.
Re-install the monitor you are asking about.
If it doesn't work -- it has a problem - if it is LCD - you can get a new one or a good used one a lot cheaper then trying to fix the old one.
Best of it.

A flashing
power light often means the monitor isn't getting a signal. When you
turn the monitor off and back on, do you see the brand logo for a
few seconds? Try plugging it into a different computer to see if it
comes on.
If plugging it into another computer doesn't work, it
may be a bad power circuit in the monitor. A common problem with
monitors is the capacitors going bad. If you're handy with a soldering
iron, you can try replacing them yourself. Look here for pictures and
instructions: Fix an LCD Monitor
