Microsoft 4000 wireless keyboard is not working

Bought my father inlaw a 4000 wireless keyboard and mouse. Mouse is working fine but he can't write of type in email or word. When I asked him to hit the windows key he said it did pull up the start menu but rest of the keys are not working. I am getting ready to go over to ck it out, any suggestions as to what it may be? Thanks in advance & God Bless

Look under the wireless keyboard. There is a door to install batteries. It sounds as though you just need to replace the batteries on the keyboard. I think that they're AA.

Good luck!

The wireless mouse works but the laser 5000

press connect on the wireless device...let go and then within 5 seconds press the button on the bottom of the keyboard. Repeat the same steps for the mouse whther its working or not. The problem usually is that the keyboard and mouse are on the same "Wireless Channel" and only resyncing them puts them on a seperate channel, hope this helps.

Hi

You can download the latest drivers HERE
First download the mouse software. Choose Laser Mouse 6000 from the dropdown menu

Next download the keyboard software. Choose laser keyboard 5000 from the dropdown menu.

KVM GCS1734 with microsoft wireless mouse/keybrd 4000

The MS keyboard & mouse receiver is effectively a USB hub with two devices connected to it. So, plugging it into the keyboard socket on the KVM switch may well work, depending on how that particular switch implements USB. If it just passes things through, it should be OK. On the PC side you should only need to plug in the USB cable from the switch's keyboard port.
