Bought my father inlaw a 4000 wireless keyboard and mouse. Mouse is working fine but he can't write of type in email or word. When I asked him to hit the windows key he said it did pull up the start menu but rest of the keys are not working. I am getting ready to go over to ck it out, any suggestions as to what it may be? Look under the wireless keyboard. There is a door to install batteries. It sounds as though you just need to replace the batteries on the keyboard. I think that they're AA.

my microsoft 4000 wireless keyboard is not working. nothing works right. i press the space bar and a small 't' pops up then a space after that none of the keys work properly. i already changed the batteries and it didn't help.
