SOURCE: DR-2050C Scanner all sheets feed thru only one scans

Do you get an error message after the first scanned image? If not, check your software settings to see if you have the option of single page /multipage scanning. Some software lets the customer choose a single page scan when the SCAN button is pressed.

Check the "Feed Select Lever" to make sure it is in mutifeed position. If not, it will grab all of the docs at once.

SOURCE: My Canon DR-2050C keeps jamming when I try to scan more than 1 page???

I finally solved my problem. Now it works like new.

Cause:

- The spring that returns the next sheet detector (small black plastic rocker arm between the two rollers on the back side) came off. So the scanner cannot detect transition from one page to the next. This spring is located inside the device and you cannot fix it from the outside.
- You know if you have this problem if you don't hear a "click" sound after each page is scanned. Without the spring attached the rocker will not return on every page. When it doesn't return the scanner think it is still on the first page and will not scan the next page. The "click" after each page is NORMAL. Without the click is the first sign your spring came off.

Solution (Only recommended for people handy with hardware and the unit is no longer under warranty)

1. Turn off power and unplug the device.
2. Pop off the plastic cover to the back of the scanner
3. Remove the screws that holds the plastic cover to the back.
4. Remove the screw by pushing on the retainer clips. DO NOT loosen any gears or motors.
5. Locate the rocker arm and re-connect the (very small) spring

6. Warning - if the LED light pipe falls out be careful how you put it back. This is a transparent widget at the top to route a LED light to the top of the device to indicate the power on status.

Sorry I didn't take pictures. If this sounds too complicated, send it to Canon for repair. Took me about a day to figure out exactly what was wrong and how to disassemble the scanner to fix it.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Installed driver twice for Canon DR-2050c. Still

Pls run checkdisc/scandisk on your Comp. Your OS may be corrupted. Just to verify try scanning by connecting to a formatted newly loaded OS Computer.

SOURCE: Canon DR-2050C Scanner gets verticle line down image

I have the same issue with mine and there are 2 image sensors on this scanner. 1 in the back that you will see when you open the front that has a meteal shield covering the top half, and one in the fold out front that faces the inside. These are the "glass" sections everyone is refering to. Problem is, they are plexiglass, not glass and mine has a tiny scratch in the lens that is causing the line. This could be your problem. find the lens and use a LED flashlight to inspect your lens for scratches. If its scratched like mine, the entire module has to be replaced to fix it. The canon part number is MH7-7038 and they range from $125-$160 if you replace it yourself. The one in the front is easy to do, but the back one is a little tricky. Hope this helps. E. WE HAVE 8 CANON DR-2050C SCANNERS IN OUR X-RAY DEPARTMENT, ALL OF WHICH HAVE STUBBORN ARTIFACT LINES IN VARIOUS PLACES.... WE TRIED CLEANING THE GLASS SURFACES WITH ALCOHOL WIPES, BUT STILL HAVE THOSE...

It might be that you have dust on the inside of the glass that is causing the problem. It might be possible to replace the scanning elements. You might try some compressed air to see if you can get enough pressure below the glass to dislodge whatever is causing the problem.

DR 2050C

This has something to do the brightness chosen. In the manual mode, if you choose a dark output, the output will have tis area also; if you choose, lighter output, it will omit. In the auto scan mode, the scanner decides what is the best output.
