Hmm.. I dont think you can do that. The camera keeps a memory number itself once reset it starts 0001 again.

I take a lot of pictures and delete the off of my SD card. When placing pictures in folders it seems to have the same numbers and this causes a problem with maybe deleting old pics. Is there a way for the...

You have three choices for file numbering, controlled by Custom Setting #D7:

Off: File numbers are always started at 0001 whenever a new folder is created, when the memory card is formatted, or a new memory card is inserted into the camera.

On: File numbers are incremented until they reach 9999, at which point a new folder is created and the file numbering will again begin at 0001.

Reset: The file number is reset to one more than the current number in the current folder. If there are no pictures in the current folder, the number is reset to 0001.

Because the numbering only uses four digits, numbers are going to repeat every ten thousand pictures no matter what you do.

Photo No back to zero

FILE NAME..................................................Resetting the file names of pictures
RESET This method is useful when grouping files on separate cards.
The file number and folder number are reset every time a new card
is inserted in the camera. The folder number returns to [No. 100]
and the file number returns to [No. 0001].
AUTO This method is useful when you want to manage all your files
with sequential numbers.
Even if a new card is inserted, the folder number and file number are
retained from the previous card. This helps you to manage multiple cards.

To do this you go to the menu and to the setup option and press ok. Down arrow to file name and pick the option you want to use and press ok.

Cannot use the continious numbering of photos.

As annoying as that certainly is, the camera is actually functioning as designed. The reset number applies when there are still photos on the camera. If you have 10 pics on the camera, then activate the reset feature, then picture #11 will be called IMAG0001, even though it's the 11th picture being taken. With a clean slate and no pictures to start with, the camera only knows to start at 0001, simply by default. Hope this helps.

Reset Folder No.

Finally, I have contacted the Panasonic Repair Centre. The answer is the only way to reset the folder no is to bring it back to the repair centre and have it rested there. Moreover, say there is a file 1000001 in the memory card now. After you use the "No. Reset" function and if you do not format the memory card (in other words, the 1000001 file is still in the card), the new file no will become 1010001 when you take a new picture with this memory card. Therefore, I will format the memory card before I use the "No. Reset" fuction in order to make the new picture started from 1000001.

Corrupt Date Book Fixed

Updated Instructions Simple fix for a corrupted Date Book sync error (at least it worked for me on my Treo 650). 1). Turn off 'Show Calendar Event' in the Phones 'Options - General Preferences' menu. 2). Turn off phone. 3). Set the Date/Time to the maximum limits (12/31/31) in Preferences. 4). Open the Calendar and view the maximum day 12/31/31. 5). Select 'Purge - (Delete events older then 1 week)' in the Calendars Options menu. 6). Reset the Date/Time to the current day in Preferences. 7). Hotsync (Desktop Calendar overwrites handheld). 8). Hotsync again to make sure you don’t get the error (Synchronize the files). That’s it. =============================== Outlook Calendar The attempt to open the database failed. Date Book application database is not found. Sync fails with "too many open databases"

This is what I did to fix that error:

Hard-reset your Palm to erase all data (that usually involves pushing the small "reset" button on the back, then pressing the "power on" button until the device boots, and then pressing "up" to confirm the hard-reset)

After that, sync your palm. The sync software will ask if you want to use your existing profile or create a new one. Create a new one. Then the program will offer to sync your Outlook profile with your Palm. Click on "ok", and a message asking you to accept to sync your Outlook data with more than one profile will pop-up. Click on OK, again... and that's it!
