First, the android logo which appears... is it lying on its back with its tummy open and a 'no command' writing also displayed?
Or is it simply the android logo ONLY.
In any case, once you do the hard reset and the android logo re-appears, try and pushing either the volume up or volume down button.
Next, check and see if it now displays the various command options on the screen.
Otherwise, when the android logo reappears, you can try press one of the following 'home button' or 'back button' or 'opened tabs button' and see if the reset menu/command options become displayed.
Hi I've repaired a lot of these monitors and every one seemed to do something strange. In this case my first thought is that somehow he monitor firmware got zapped when the card was damaged. Although this could certainly fall into the category of an open ground in the cable. My suggestion at this point would be to take it to a reputable repair person and get their estimate or take a look at www.micromendllc.com.
When you say "screen goes black," does the computer power down, or is it still operating? Does the sleep light come on? Does it respond to the keyboard and mouse? (Example: press the power button momentarily, wait a few seconds for the "Do you really want to shut down" message to appear, even though you can't see it, then hit the return key to answer "OK," and see if it shuts down.) Does the screen go black or come out of black if you tap the computer?
While your computer is working, go to System Preferences / Desktop & Screen Saver, the Screen Saver tab, click Hot Corners, and set a corner of your screen to Put Display to Sleep. Then next time your screen goes black, mouse your way into that corner, pause a few seconds, then mouse back out and see if your screen returns.
Open it up and look at the capacitors. The round "tin can" looking components. If the tops appear bulged, then replacing them may help. Check out the YouTube video... and web site...
maryfoldesi1, Your monitor power supply is going into shutdown mode becauce it has detected a fault within the unit. A technician will need to evaluate it. Before doing anything visit YOUTUBE to view vid clips of "LCD monitor disassembly" and "LCD monitor repair" Also read more of my responses to other owners that have BLACK SCREEN problems and find out all your options you have open to you. You did not tell us if you can still see the Win-desktop AFTER it goes BLACK. Is it also BLANK or can you still see a faint image on lcd panel if holding a bright flashlight 1 inch from screen? lmistyrel on aim.com 12fixlouie on fixya
this means the TV having picture upper part of the screen. problem may be -15 V to vertical deflection ic suddenly gose off and system control gose to stand-by mode resolder vertical out ic , -15 v supply line from the fly back and system control .
You most likely have a bad connection inside the unit. Specifically, there are a couple of "backlights" that provide the light that will pass thru the LCD panel. If you can open up the unit, with the screen facing up, there should be a small PC board on the right. Check the connections on that board. Be careful as there is high voltage there.
Keep us posted.
