    Scott,

The easiest way to get the connections you desire it would be easiest to upgrade the 625 to a 722 which is a HD dual tuner receiver with DVR. The drawback would be if you did not want to subscribe to HD programming Dish would charge you an HD enabling fee each month but you will recieve a greater record time for the DVR- 200 hrs SD programming. You can search the net for converters from coax or rca to component or hdmi but by the time you find the correct combo you could have replaced the receiver. An additional benefit of the 722 over the 625 is the ability to connect an external hard drive to add more storage space for your DVR or to download the recordings if the receiver needs replacing in the future.

Why does my Dish Network DVR-625 DTV receiver sound like it is running all the time

The Dish 625 as with the other Dish DVR systems has a fan built into the back of the unit. The fan runs nearly all the time to keep the internal drive cool. Sometimes the fan sounds louder that normal. what I do from time to time is take my shop vac and or the small vac u you use to clean your computer. and clean the vents around the fan. I do this on my desk top computer also.. Hope this helps.

The 625 receiver does not support any internet functionality. You would need to upgrade to a newer receiver box.

How do I get closed captioning on my 625 dish dvr.

Guest,

The 625 receiver does not have a setting to control closed caption. This is a setting from your TV itself. I would look at your TV manual to see how you can turn the feature on. I hope this helps.

Hooking Up Panasonic sc-ht670 home theater to Dish DVR 625 and Panasonic TH-42PHD7UY Plasma TV

You will need to run a set of audio cables from the TV1 output on the rear of the 625 directly to one of the three audio inputs on the surround system. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
