Ok so I have a new laptop and I've downloaded the Windows7 drivers it suggests to get your dongle to work. I've tried this over and over again, I've tried uninstalling everything and completely starting over, I'ver tried anything and everything that's suggested on the viking site to get your dongle to work with windows7 (my other computer was windows7 too and I was able to get the dongle working on that without any complications!!!) but it still says error: Dongle not found. Also when I go into "my computer" I don't see the icon that I even have something in the port where I have my dongle. Can anyone please help me with this problem?! Any suggestions?! Has this happened to anyone else and if so what did you do?

Are you running Vista? as I had the same problem, you can download the vista update from the Husqvarna site, and then the dingle should work, the error message I was getting was 'dongle corrupt', and sometime 'cannot find dongle'. It seems that Husqvarna no longer make the 3D dongle as mine broke and I was unable to buy a replacement, had to super glue it back together!!. Another possible issue is the drivers, again you can download the latest drivers from the Husqvarna site.
Hope this helps

You will have to maintain an XP computer or buy new software there is no fix for your problem. It's the electronic age the old software was written for the XP operating system. When MS changed the operating system Husqvarna Viking had to design new software it's that simple.Don't blame the manufacturer Microsoft made the changes that created the problem. www.sewvac.com

I'm sorry to tell you but your program will simply not run in your new Windows7 pc - it simply doesn't have the correct floppy connection driver for it.
Your only option is to either install XPMode or to dual boot. In XP you will have to install the driver for the LPT addon card and then your software.

The problem is that the software is so old it was written for 16-bit Windows 3.1 back in the early 1990s. Windows 95 and Windows XP maintained compatibility with that old software, but Windows 7 no longer does. A competent computer nerd could create a Virtual PC running Windows XP inside your Windows 7 box, and this would give you an environment in which to run your old software without keeping two computers around.
