SOURCE: belkin wireless adapter

Sometimes wireless phones will interfere with the signals. If the router or PC is anywhere near a phone, it might have a problem. I have one wireless network card that gives me fits like that. I have yet to get a PC working with it. I have other wireless cards that work fine. I also switched to 5GHz phones, which helped my old laptop. Check to make sure there's not a conflict with the encryption used by either the dell or the router.

SOURCE: no internet connectn for desktop but wireless works with laptop.

If your running xp, make sure the netowrk card is not disabled, make sure you rnot using a cross over cable. use the cable you got with the routers. Try reinstalling the network card, goto dell support andenter you model to get the drivers.

1 thing to check. goto start ,control panel.
double click on netowrk conections.
right click on the main conection witch is the card in your pc, goto properties. andin the list internet protocol (tcp/ip) click this. and pres properties.

make sure in here obtain ip addres is automatically. and obtain dns is auto too.

Try this let me know how you get on.

SOURCE: will all wireless adapter brands and models work

If your talking about a wireless adapter that plugs in via a USB port then yes. If you are talking about a wireless network card that is installed into a PCI slot inside the computer, you can check with the network card manufacture for the specs but it should work as long as it is Windows compatible.

Dell inspiron m5030 netgear router

Limited connectivity
If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you wireless connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and then click Repair.
This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless card on the laptop.

Internet connection not working on wireless

Your problem is listed under the wrong product category, just thought I'd mention that. Are you trying to troubleshoot the N600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter (WNDA3100)? I can not identify your hardware by the number 600n. Feel free to respond so I can further assist you in finding the drivers you need to get that XP up and running again.

The Host (wired) computer is running windows 7. The wireless computers, using Vista, cannot access host.

The NetGear WNDR3400 N600 Wireless Dual takes security very serius and therefore u should read the manual very carefully, giving attention to the pages about the different forms of connections to the router with the different forms of security.
U can access the router as it is described in the amnual, or if not U have to reset and re-initialize all connections with evtually new security settings.
U know, even a router is only a simple com-device, which sometimes hangs and needs to be re-setted.

Good luck

The wireless router has capacity to over perform only situation with the device connectoins to your computer are receiving signals from more than one network. You are allowing several signals to access the computer. Establish one network pass at a time. a stronger once should be chosen and the device would perfrom to capacity.
