Try to change your security settings in your router. Try the link to figure out the setting type for wii also look up your make and model of your wifi router to help get it set up properly. Wii Security Settings
Wireless Connection 1. On the Wii console's main menu, click on the 'Wii button' in the lower left corner. 2. This will take you to the settings screen. On this screen, click on 'Wii Settings'. 3. In the 'Wii System Settings', click on the blue arrow on the right to reach the second screen of options. On this screen, click the 'Internet' button. 4. Select 'Connection Settings'. 5. Select an open connection, indicated by 'None'. 6. Select 'Wireless Connection'. 7. Select 'Search for an Access Point'. 8. At this point, the Wii console will search for any identifiable Access Points nearby. Once this search has completed, you will be directed to choose the Access Point that you wish to connect to. Click 'OK' to display the list of available Access Points. 9. Select your Access Point from the list of available Access Points. If your connection appears as a closed padlock, then the Access Point requires a security code or passphrase. The security code or passphrase can usually be found on the security tab of your wireless router settings. If your connection signal appears yellow or red, the stability or strength of the connection is not optimal. If possible, remove any obstacles between the Wii console and the Access Point. I've also found that changing the channel on your router to channel 1 or channel 11 can sometimes help with singal stability and strength. 10. Click 'Save' followed by 'OK' to save your connection settings... 11. ...and select OK again to start an automatic connection test. If the test succeeds, Internet Setup is complete and your Wii conosle is wirelessly connected!
I'll advise briefly, but suggest you find the router page address (something like 198.168.2.1). You can find this by looking in the manual for the router. You can also double click to open the router and then "open device webpage"
This will allow you to access the router settings and configure the wireless protocols and passwords / security. Without knowing which router you are using, I cannot give specific help.
You need to ensure that the wireless password that you set in the router is typed EXACTLY into the network connection on your PC / laptop
You may need to update your wii console in order for you to get to the wii shop. Try a system update from the system menu and then try again with the wii shop. I hope this helps!
D links are normally pretty user friendly. Try resetting the router itself. grab a paperclip or something small, and hold down the reset button in the back of the router for 10 sec. or until it resets by itself. once this is done your router should be restored back to default settings, aka. like when you first took it out of the box.
So you have a DSL modem connected to a router connected to a wireless router connected to both your computers? Sounds like you need to just get a wireless modem and throw all the routers away.
Fix your router again. If the wifi is fine, you just have to let the nintendo search for the wireless network and connect to it. You don't have to do anything on the router to let your nintendo to connect.
if you are wireless, after a reset you need to connect with the router using an RJ45 lan connector lead.
Reboot your notebook, while connect to router and then type in the default address for the set up page normally 192.168.0.1
