Packet data please i am using nokia 2600c-2 and i have being trying to activate free gprs but it is not working, rather it will be writting packet data connection not available or subscribe to packet data first and link not available i want you to send me the manual configuration setting now in my inbox or through sms in my phone my phone number is 08076384429 and 07037220414 am in nigeria am using globacom and MTN line.

Basic Setting Parameters for GPRS & MMS
Proxy Server :- 192.80.7.133, Port :- 8000

For accessing internet/WAP through your mobile handset :-
GPRS APN :- ntwap
GPRS Home Page :- http://wap.ntc.net.np (You can use your favorite site link also)more...

For accessing internet through computer by using GPRS service in your mobile phone :-
APN :- ntnet
Leave Username, Password and any other fields blank.more... For sending and receiving MMS :-
MMS APN :- ntmms
MMS Home Page/Server Address :- 192.80.11.180


Setting I for Nokia (2626,2600,2760, 3110, 3120,3600, Xpress Music 5200, 5220, 5300, 5610,5310, 6030, 6070, 6080,6085, 6151, 6233, 6280, 6300,6500 Slide,6600,6220,7210, 7360, ...)
1. Enter the main menu.
2. Select Settings, configuration, personal config. setting
3. Add new (From options)
4. Select Web and provide details
a. Account name: Ntc
b. Homepage: http://wap.ntc.net.np
c. Leave User name and Password field blank.
d. Preferred access point: No
5. Then define access point settings
a. Proxy: Enable
b. Proxy Address:192.80.7.133
c. Proxy port: 8000
d. Data bearer: Packet data.
6. Select Bearer settings.
a. Packet data access point: ntwap
b. Authentication type as Normal.
c. Leave other fields as it is.
7. Finally, activate the above created web
8. Restart your set and you are now ready to surf internet with NT Mobile GPRS service.

Note: In case if if third applications(like operamini,ebuddy,mig33) don't work, follow these steps:

1. Repeat the above steps upto 3
2. Select Access point and provide details
1. Account Name: Ntc
2. Go to Access point settings;
3. Data bearer: Packet data
4. Go to Bearer settings:
5. Packet data access point: ntnet
6. Network type: IPv4
7. Authentication type: Normal
8. Leave other fields as blank
3. Save the settings and activate it
4. Restart your set and you are now ready to surf internet.

nokia 2600 is not good experience for GPRS surf, if the said messages appear it mean you dont have GPRS settings into your phone. ask the same to service provider they will provide you.

u shud call ur service provider customer care so that they 'll send u the setting for gprs either automatic or manual.. cheers.. :)

1. Call your customer center
2. Tell the to activate packet data or GPRS function in your mobile 
3. Please tell your mobile phone number and phone model number 
4. and they will activate it  
5. after that you will get packet data settings in your phone
6. Save it And restart your phone
7. Then it is active and you can browse internet in your mobile phone
8. Activation of packet data is a free service

You can set your gprs setting manually go to access point and set gprs gprsnorth.cellone.in

packet data is also known as GPRS services, different service provides different plans for gprs usage. contact your service provider and get the gprs/packet data services activated.

go to the nokia web site and they will send you whatever settings you need

everytime mu nokia 6300 i use internet , it asks "subscribe to packet data first . pls tell me how?
