Is your sink getting hot water? If no then probably your hot water heater needs adjusted or heating element in it replaced.

generally dishwashers rely on the pressure supplied by the water supply line. check to see if it is enough or if inlet pipe is of sufficient diameter for needed flow.in some instances i know of seperate lines needing to be run directly instead of coming off of supply to sink area.

Check the incoming water quality. If water is hard and having calcium content this could happen. Use water softeners in the inlet water to the machine.

If dish washer salt compartment available fill with the special salt meant for dish washers.

Check rinse aid compartment and fill rinse aid. Or use two in one soap tablet.

My Samsung model #WA4H7000AW/A2 seems to always need an additional rinse to get rid of soap left behind. Is this a common complaint ?

Here are some questions that may help.
1) Is the water hot enough? Since the soap "melts" better at higher temperatures, cooler water can leave a soap film.
2) Are the dishes clean before you run the machine? We like to used the dishwasher to "sanitize" the dishes, so we rinse them really good before washing them, to get off caked food residue.
3) Try changing washer soap, try powder if you used liquid, or visa-versa, and try less quantity and see if any of those help.
God bless your efforts.

Your best cleaning option would be to put a tablespoon of citric acid powder in the machine and run it on hot normal load all the way through. The citric acid dissolves much of the gunk that builds up in dishwashers without damagin any of it's components. You can get citric acid powder at your local Target or CVS (Walmart or Home Depot in Canada).

Another thing to think of... if you are using the dishwasher packets, you will have buildup in your machine as the packets are slow to dissolve fully and can cause plug-ups in certain conditions. Using the hot cycle is really the only way to use them effectively. Liquid soap is a much better alternative.

Soap packet not dissolving

Just a thought. You should start your washer with the hotest water you have. Run the tap in the kitchen until you get hot water then start your dish washer.

Why does the soap not melt or get distributed to the dishes?

Using too much soap is worse than not using enough. Over time, soap scum will build up and plug the internal plumbing of the dishwasher. Often, there is simply not enough water in the dishwsher to be effective. The GE uses an electric solonoid which opens when it is time to drain. This item can get corroded and allows water to pump out when it is supposed to be washing. Also, it is possible you are not getting enough water because of supply problems. Disconnect the hot water line and check the flow of water and also the intake screen to see if it is plugged. If you have ample water after the a wash cycle has been running for several minutes, check the water timeperature. It should be around 120 degerrs F.

Hope this helps, Ken

My soap won't dissolve during the cycle.

You are not getting enough water or you are losing the water during wash cycle. Is you dishwasher new or older? How is it plumbed in? If it is plumbed through the floor you will have to put and air gap in to keep the water in it. All tall tub dishwasher have to be plumbed properly.

Soap packets don't melt/disolve

sounds as if you amy have a problem with the dispensor door not opening correctly perhaps opening at end of cycle when all water is already released.Ive seen that sometimes the "tabs" or "packets of detegent are too tall and interfere with normal opening of the latch mechanism. manufacture would reccommend using powder instead.

GE Triton XL

Try placing a packet in the bottom of the DW and then start a wash cycle ( use the energy efficient cycle that does not use the heater to dry the dishes..).. if it is not disolved at the end of the cycle then your water temp may not be hot enough..Hope that helps..
