BSNL Broadband with Windows Vista

BSNL Broadband Dataone is offering ISP connection to home and business differently as the way and limit of usage are different. And for every plan the prices vary for single month or annual tariff. If pre-ordering for 1 year, the tariff is discounted to some amount.
Here are the various plans available for home subscribers who go for BSNL broadband home plans -

Home 125 plan
256 Kbps/Upto 2Mbps connection.
Monthly tariff is Rs 125 and Annual tariff is Rs 1250.
Download/Upload limit is 150 MB per month, and additional usage costs Rs 0.90 per MB.
There is no night unlimited browsing option available.

Home 250
256 Kbps/Upto 2Mbps connection.
Monthly tariff is Rs 250 and Annual tariff is Rs 2500.
Download/Upload limit is 1 GB per month, and additional usage costs Rs 0.90 per MB.
There is no night unlimited browsing option available.

Home 500
256 Kbps/Upto 2Mbps connection.
Monthly tariff is Rs 500 and Annual tariff is Rs 5000.
Download/Upload limit is 2.5 GB per month, and additional usage costs Rs 0.80 per MB.
You can browse unlimited from 0200-0800 Hrs.

Home 1000
384 Kbps/Upto 2Mbps connection.
Monthly tariff is Rs 1000 and Annual tariff is Rs 10000.
Download/Upload limit is 5 GB per month, and additional usage costs Rs 0.80 per MB.
You can browse unlimited from 0200-0800 Hrs.
You have to give 1 month plan charges extra for security deposit.

Home 1800
512 Kbps/Upto 2Mbps connection.
Monthly tariff is Rs 1800 and Annual tariff is Rs 18000.
Download/Upload limit is 10 GB per month, and additional usage costs Rs 0.70 per MB.
You can browse unlimited from 0200-0800 Hrs.
You have to give 1 month plan charges extra for security deposit.

Home 3300
2Mbps connection.
Monthly tariff is Rs 3300 and Annual tariff is Rs 33000.
Download/Upload limit is 5 GB per month, and additional usage costs Rs 0.70 per MB.
You can browse unlimited from 0200-0800 Hrs.
You have to give 1 month plan charges extra for security deposit

this is not a problem with ur PC or router this could be in the Filter or splitter that ur ISP gave you, what i would do is call ur ISP and have them run a line test that could be the reason
i work for att. and that does happen ALOT you can also go to
www.speakeasy.net go to the bottom you should see whats my speed or test ur speed click on that and select a server closest to you and it will run a speed test up and download speed

This can happens when Automatic Updates Feature is Turn On. Your antivirus definitions updations. By using peer to peer softwares like bitcomet, bittorrent, Bitlord etc., These can work in bacground and downloads the updates and softwares and shares the resources of the downloads. By these the limit can exceed.

To reduce these risk factors
Change 250 Plan to 500 limited plan or 750 Home unlimited.
If not disable the autoupdates feature.

Hi Naveen,
The transfer rate is at its optimum for one-fourth the total connection speed.
Since your connectio is 256 hence you should be getting 60-65 average speed.
Try using DAP (DOWNLOAD ACCELERATOR) which is available free from the following site...
www.speedbit.com
