Go to download the drivers that you require from the Sony WEB site, to their support/download page. Make sure you input your model laptop and select the Windows OS that matches your installed operating system.

SOURCE: some keys on Sony Vaio VGN FS830w stopped working

Hi:
Most of the time it is a keyboard failure. You can troubleshoot this by plugging in an external keyboard and seeing how that works, but most of the time it is your keyboard. They are not expensive on ebay, maybe $15 + shipping, and not hard to change

Stop error on sony vaio vgn-nw235f

There are multiple possible reasons for your problem:
1. virus
2. hard-drive malfunctions
3. OS malfunctions
4. memory failure

Try to install an antivirus and do a deep scan. You should pay attention to a boot sector virus.

If this doesn't help, do a back-up of your data, format your hard disk and re-install a fresh OS.

If this doesn't help either, try changing the RAM memory.

If that doesn't help either, it means your hard disk's boot sector is damaged. There are solutions for this too, but I think there is a big chance you won't get to this point.

My Sony Vaio VGN-FS980 (Windows XP) is running really slow.

The Sony Vaio slow issue can be caused by reasons like lack of free disk space, registry corruption or redundancy, overload startup programs, virus attack, fragmented hard drive etc.

There are manual ways to get all those issues fixed but it costs time and energy, and most importantly it needs technical skills. So I'll recommend a quick yet easy speed up solution, as you can see here: http://www.sonyvaioslow.com/

Sony vgn cr353 suts down any time and after pressing power on button again its starts with no problem and again any time its power off

Problems could be caused by:
1. If using only battery power, battery could be going bad or needs to be recalibrated (following hps website instructions.

2. If using with power adapter, check sleep mode or screensaver times; turn off sleep mode or modify sreensaver times; could be interfering with antivirus software and shutting system down, some antivirus software is not compatible with laptops.

3. Make sure cooling fan is coming on (listen for operation, it works intermittent.) If laptop gets too hot, it will shut down.

4. Could possibly be viral is cause; if laptop has been used on the internet consistantly, it might be infected, download a free antivirus program and use it.

5. Does problem occur with movement of laptop? Could be short or other defect, return for warranty replacement.

Hope this helps.

I have to remove the battery pack and reinsert it

have you tried holding the power button down for about 5-10 seconds to manually shut down laptop? make sure the system is up to date with the current updates and clean out the system using your antivirus program. also try microsoft security essentials if you dont already have it.

you have some conflick in your installed system running the recovery console when your system goes to slow in operation is not the best option. this is my idea becuase your laptop experience neccessary operation, you never check first if your Pc is onfected with a virus? if so try to scan your PC with a reliable AV... try use NOD32 and scan your PC. and also reinstall your pointing device

I CANNOT START MY SONY VAIO LAPTOP - THERE IS A MESSAGE THAT APPEARS EACH TIME WHICH SAYS "CONGIFURING UPDATES STAGE 3 OF 3 0% COMPLETE - DO NOT TUR OFF YOUR COMPUTER" - THEN IT SOMEHOW SHUTS DOWN??? THEN...

Sort of sounds like a virus. I had a Sony VAIO laptop for about 8 years. During that time until I got KASPARSKY internet antivirus I had many problems. Sony was a lifesaver. Call then at 888-467-6972. Out of the at least 10 times that I called them they talked to me without charging me anything except for one time. They charged me 19.99. However, if you are like me it didn't matter how much it cost. You should call them.
