Password not working

I installed everything correct and when I try to set it up I type in my password for my network and it says  password invalid I checked to make sure everything was typed in correct and it was I checked the link the router put on my desktop and everything is correct but it keeps saying invalid password  what do I do here please help

    Hello... can I ask a few questions to help narrow down the problem:
    1) Can you successfully make a wired connection to your network

    2) Which operating system do you have - Vista, XP, or...?

    3) Which make of computer are you trying to connect to the network

    4) Is your password a WEP or WPA key? WEP can sometimes cause conflicts with newer operating systems

Are you not able to load the page at all? or is it showing invalid access. credentials? If its saying that you have invalid username or password, and you are sure about typing your correct credentials, then it is most likely that your account has been compromised. second pls check the wireless card's internet protocol properties if set to : obtain IP address automatically..


try also to release and renew your IP


click Start>>>RUN


type cmd and press enter


type ipconfig /release then press enter


type ipconfig /renew then press enter

Check caps lock or type in top bar so you will know your keyboard is fine or not.

Make sure your adapter 'Encryption type' and that of the wireless router is the same. Like, WPAK, WPAK-PS2 etc...

Cannot connect MacBook to DIR-615 router
Is your wireless network secured ?
If you are trying to connect to the secured wireless network, make sure that the network that you are typing is correct.
If you are not sure about the network key
then check the network key on the router.
You said that MAC is able to connect to the neighbor's wireless network.
Make sure that the Wireless MAC filter on your router is disabled.

Are you trying to use wireless? If so, do you have poor signal? I would suggest browsing to your modems interface. Type gateway.2wire.net into your web browser. Click on the Homenetworking icon. Select wireless settings. Type in your system password. Increase the power of your wireless setting located towards the bottom of the page. You can even try changing the wireless channel. Save and then retry to connect. Make sure you are entering the network key correctly.
