Just had my rear brakes changed in a garage and now the Trac Off and brake warning lights are staying on. Is this normal?
Don't know about the "brake" light, but have someone check how your taillights are working. My trac off light would come on, and after a lot of head scratching, it was because water drains from the roof down to the taillight plug, corrodes it, and for some reason that set's off the light. I cleaned mine a couple of times, caulked it and it worked. IF it get's too bad, replace the lamp housing. I had to drill holes and hardwire my ground...
No.
The brake warning light could be telling you there is a problem with the hydraulic brake system or the parking brake.
The trac off light is saying there is a problem with the brakes or engine and the traction control system is disabled.

When the wavy light is on with parenthasis around it and at the same time the (!) and (P) lights are on, this indicates a serious brake concern

You have a bad sensor at one of the tires that need replacing that operates ABS and traction control. If you take it in to a shop it will run $130 but they can find which sensor is causing the problem. But if you do it you might have to replace all 4 sensors to make sure you got the right one. Every hard to diagnoses. Its better for the shop cause they can get electrical read outs for each sensor.

check the ground in the fuse link also take out the rear tail light lens and make sure you don't have a broken or damage wire on the socket itself

CHECK YOUR BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH THAT IS ON YOUR BRAKE PEDAL UNDER THE DASH
Check the Amps on your Fusebox for your brake light if the correct amp measurement is installed for the break lights then consider using a larger bulb or a bulb that can handle more voltage. most likely incorrect voltage is going to the bulb this is normally fixed by adjust the fuse amp amount to be lower or higher or changing the bulb voltage size
