Mitsubushi projector status light flashing green then switching off

So our projector has stopped working. The bulb was replaced a few months back so it's not that and the projector is normally ceiling mounted so hasn't been bashed around. The status and power both go green and the fan is on then the status flashes green and power light goes red then eventually switches off. Nothing comes out of the bulb. Please help ASAP?

SOURCE: mitsu hc3000 problem "red-green status light blinking and no input"

fyremd,

I had an older model (1500) and I think I read in the manual that it will shutdown @ 3000 hrs. You have to replace the lamp itself, not just the bulb. The average price (depending on where you shop) is around $200 dollars or more for a replacement lamp.

I hope this helps. Please let me know!

-Thanks

SOURCE: Projector will not project light (Mitsubishi LVP-X80U) LCD Proje.

Hello toma_leonard,

First check your lamp to make sure it is seated properly in the socket.
Then check all of your interlocks (see your manual for locations), these are usually located on any hatches or doors that allow access to the lamp and or fan area. Once you check your interlocks make sure the filter and fan area is clear of dust, (some projectors have air flow sensors), and the recheck the interlocks. Once this is done , If the interlocks are not broken, or the lamp fuse blown, the projector should be working. If not it is the lamp that needs changing.

I know this may be expensive, however these lamps do go bad, as much as we wish they would not.

If you still feel it is not the lamp, have a technician check the voltage levels to the lamp and the levels of the control board circuitry.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

SOURCE: Blinking Light on Mitsubishi SL4SU Projector

To jmatthews

Both power light and status light a solid red with no response to any buttons indicates the bulb timer has expired. You need to reset the timer by pressing and holding the left arrow key, the right arrow key and the power button all at the same time for a few seconds.

If there are no problems, the projector will fire up, but you must replace the bulb as it will fail soon and perhaps explode when it does.

Take care

I have an optima hd180 that will not power up. The projector was indicating a bad bulb, so I replaced that with a new one. Now it still will not power up and the fan does not come on either.

Problem w/ OEM bulb, it causes a lot of issues from my experience. Your ballast might have gone bad, hopefully it's just that. Check the voltage output of the ballast, make sure you're getting the proper amount.

Sounds as though the system may have overheated. Do you regularly check the filters and clean them? An airduster can also help to blow dust out of hard to reach places.

Sounds like you lamp ballast has gone bad. I good way to verify this is, when you press power on the projector look inside the lens. If you see a small amount of light, then the ballast is good, and the lamp is bad. If there is no light then chances are the ballast is bad.

Projector turns on but no light or image from lens.

The bulbs do not always look broken when dead. You say it is used often. The life of a bulb is around 1400 hours I believe. This normally equates to a year or two depending on your usage levels. Did you notice your image getting dimmer in the months before it stopped working? This would be a good sign it was in need of replacement. Are the lights flashing very rapidly or blinking slowly? If they are flashing very rapidly this indicated the bulb will not fire and needs replacing.

Try pressing the HELP button. Don't release and press the power button. The LED lights should blink. Release then try to power on again.
